If your toddler was a solid sleeper-as in 10-12 hours uninterrupted for about a year, and then had a hysterical MOTN wake up for an hour plus...what was outcome--sick/never happened again/night terror/etc?
DS has been up screaming completely hysterically for over an hour! I go in comfort, he calms, I leave, back to screaming!
*praying* this is a one time occurrence!!!

My LO keeps doing it, but not for such long stretches. Instead he wakes up multiple times and I swear sleep walks, it's the weirdest thing and so exhausting.

@Boogs: I go in and soothe him and he'll be almost asleep...walk out, I get in bed--and he starts again! Ugh. Felt around in his mouth and his 2 year molars don't appear to be coming in. Ugh! I'd practically forgotten what this was like!

@matador84: Yeah I do the soothing too and sometimes it works for 10 minutes, sometimes 30, but he's at it again. My LO is older so definitely not a teething issue.

I had that happen several weeks ago. I had to wake him up completely, do a couple distraction tactics, get a snack, then do bedtime over again. Not sure what happened, but so far it's just been the one time with screaming for over an hour. It suuuuuucked.

Same here. I've been up for an hour and she will not go back to sleep. 
She already has her 2 year molars.

@matador84: Yeah, that same thing happened too.... makes a mama crazy! By the end of that night I gave up and had both in our guest bed with me. Quality sleep.... not!

O sttn for awhile (not a year) and started doing this recently. I think separation anxiety. Also, she yells every word she knows so I am never sure what she's asking for! I found if I go in with cold water she will suck it down, let me rock her a min then she lays back down.

I can't believe last night even happened! Finally got some sleep from 4-730. Going on vacation tomorrow and praying we'll sleep on vacay!

this happened to us right around the 12-month mark. during a period of two weeks, LO woke up about 3 or 4 nights and wouldn't go back to sleep for a few hours. it was hard, but luckily it went away.

@littlek: I don't know! I was talking to him and he was answering me...he used to do this when he was a baby and was getting sick!

@matador84: B woke up the other night and was screaming like crazy for DH. DH and I thought he was having a nightmare, DH went in soothed him and he fell back asleep.
