Which do you prefer?
I'm caught in between. I love the idea of having all of my books in one device that I can access anytime, but I also love the feeling of a real book in my hands! Plus real books are a little easier on the eyes.
What about you?

Books! I'm not an e-reader fan...I like reading a physical book, like the feel of it, etc & I also like being able to easily loan them to friends, etc since we tend to read some of the same things.

Books. I just can't curl up and read an e-book (especially not in the tub!)

Both. I love real books and I'll buy the real version of books I love but the convenience of the e-Reader is hard to beat.

Both. The ease of my kindle wins out- so easy to have my book with me all the time I i can read while nursing since you don't have to turn actual pages. For certain books I still prefer a printed book (like Harry Potter).
I have an older kindle and it's just as easy on my eyes as print. I couldn't read on a backlit screen like the kindle fire or an iPad.

I'm a lover of paper, so I can't believe I'm saying this, but I really enjoy my kindle paperwhite. I first got it before a trip and loved bringing three books on vacation with hardly any weight in my suitcase. I also enjoy having access to more than one book at once if I'm no longer in the mood for the fiction piece I'm reading I just switch to a biography I have on there. It has also been a godsend in waiting rooms and doctor appts. Overall, I think I read more because I have my kindle.

@Dandelion: I get my ebooks from the library now! I can request it online and when it's available I can check t out right from my iphone and download right into my kindle. Don't even have to leave the couch, much less my condo, and it's free.

@sweetooth: I really want a paper white kindle. My old one still works fine but the light would be so nice.

Most of the time, e-reader (for all my fiction)... I like having multiple books in one device. So easy!... but I prefer regular books for nonfiction and parenting books (books that I like to flip back and forth and go back to time and again).

I prefer books, but reading on my phone has been awesome since it's one less thing to carry around with me. But I don't enjoy reading off my phone.

Both! I like my e-reader on the subway, so I don't have to cart a big book around, but I like books at home...

@Mrs. High Heels: That's a good distinction. I don't buy cookbooks on my kindle. It's not where I want that information stored. But I love reducing my pile of fiction on my nightstand.
@Foodnerd81: The light has been a great feature - out on the beach, in bed at night, first thing in the AM, I adjust it often. (I wish I was on the beach right now...kindle in hand and fruity beverage close by...)

@sweetooth: Yes! Actually, one of my goals this year has been to get through some of the paperback fiction books I own, so that I can donate them all. I want to declutter my books as much as possible (and just keep a few of my favorites). I don't feel the need to store a huge library of books anymore now that borrowing e-books from the library is so easy.

@Dandelion: ah, true. And it is so easy to just buy an ebook on a whim, where wth a print book you have to go to a store or order it and wait, so I know I used to spend more on ebooks because it was so easy. But I have had my kindle for five years now so the cost of the kindle, per book, is like nothing at this point.

I am SO torn on this. I think that a library is so important so a child to have access to, and while we have a nice one, the books all represent our interests from the past, not so much now. A library in you amazon cloud just does not cut it. But then I'm holding a heavy paperback and thinking man, this is big! I also love being able to buy more books in a series really easily. We've decided to buy the first book in a series in paperback as a rule.

I like and use both but prefer my e-reader for convenience. I think I read way more overall because I have my e-reader with me all the time. And with the "e-ink", I don't have any eye strain.
@lovehoneybee: I used my e-reader in the bathtub all the time! I just slide it in a slip lock bag in case it gets splashed!

I love real books but I also love how I can instantly purchase new books on the Kindle.

Depends on my mood, right no I'm on a real book kick, but I like my reader for traveling/to throw in my purse to read on the go.

Definitely books! However, ereaders definitely have their place. We often share rooms with our LOs when we travel and stay in hotels and the light from an e-reader is much less distracting than having to keep a lamp on to read a real book or magazine.

Books....if I'm honest, I don't even know where my Kindle is. lol

Kindle. I like to jump around from book to book depending on my mood, often reading a few at a time unless one really grabs my attention, so I have a ton of books in my electronic library to choose from.

It depends! I don't get to read much for fun but when I do I prefer an e-book. Especially now that I read while nursing on my phone. But the vast majority of my reading is for my work and for that I need paper-- I'm big on writing in the margins and the inside of the back cover if I own the book, and also checking footnotes are is way easier with paper. And, skipping back and forth between sections

I definitely prefer a reading real books, but I love the ease with which I can purchase an e-book.
