With all the outrage surrounding the shooting death of Trayvon Martin I am surprised a paper target in his likeness to train officers NOT to shoot is viewed as a negative. I know many black mothers who prepare their sons for eventual run ins with police. Wouldn't it be great if police officers were trained to stop and think before suspecting young black teens in anti-social clothing (hoodies for example) are up to a crime or "do not belong" in the neighborhood they are walking or driving in.
I know this is a sensitive topic, but when I was reading the article I couldn't help but think of Men in Black when Will Smith shoots the little girl instead of the aliens. Will Smith said the innocent little girl stuck out like a store thumb and looked suspicious. What's more innocent than skittles?
What do you think- was the target appropriate or not?
