I am baking a birthday cake for LO this week. I need a hand mixer. In the past I either used my mothers or mixed it by hand but I need my own now. If you use a hand mixer please recommend one!

I got the Cuisinart one for my wedding three years ago and it works very well. For most "investment" kitchen tools, I pretty much stick with KitchenAid or Cuisinart.

We have the KitchenAid Artisan 7-speed digital hand mixer and I really like it. I have a cheapy from Walgreens, and also a stand mixer from Walmart. I actually prefer my cheapy because it's easier to clean and lighter. If I invest in another stand mixer, I will save my pennies for a KitchenAid.

She has a large kitchenaid stand mixer also so the hand mixer is for lazy day use when she doesn't feel like dealing with the stand. We only have the hand so she got us the "better" one, but honestly they both mix, beat and help you make yummy treats just the same -
i have this one & love it! i've always been happy with cuisinart products =) the one @regberadaisy: posted it a great deal though if you're open to one of those color choices!
