My husband mentioned he'd like an ereader, so I'm going to get him one for Christmas. The problem is I don't know anything about them. I have an iPad and he says it's too bulky. He'd download graphic novels as well as regular books. What type do you have? Do you love it? What are the pros/cons of it?

Maybe the iPad Mini. We have both a regular Kindle and a Kindle Fire. I much prefer the regular.

I have a kindle and I really like it. I got it a couple years ago, but I really like it. It is light and small enough to carry in my purse. My Mom has the kindle fire and she really likes it since she likes to see her book covers in color.

I have the original nook, the black and white one and I love it. I'm not a fan of a tablet (iPad) for reading. If he's a big reader he might like the Kindle or new Nooks?

Specifically for reading, the Kindle is amazing, I really love it. No eye strain, easy to use, holds a charge very well.

I have both a Kindle and iPad and GREATLY prefer the Kindle for reading. My arms or eyes never get tired. The new kindles even come with a built-in back light that doesn't strain your eyes...fancy!!

If he wants to read graphic novels, I'd recommend a color e-reader. I've heard some bad reviews about the Kindle Fire (there's still some kinks to work out) but the Nook Tablet might work for him. DH has it and it's very similar in size to my Kindle 3G. We also just started downloading The Walking Dead graphic novels, and I was surprised at the quality. They have this awesome zoom feature for graphic novels that makes it a really great experience (and not at all what I thought reading a graphic novel on an electronic device would be).

I have a Kindle (the basic, cheapest one). I really enjoy it. I'm a no-frills type of gal though...I probably wouldn't even know what to do with something like a Kindle Fire or an iPad, lol.
