We're heading on our yearly family vacation (to the beach) in a couple months.
I love to read, but don't get much "me" time during the year. Anything I do read throughout the year is typically a parenting/child rearing book.
Anyway, 2 years ago I devoured Gone Girl in 2 days. Last year I read The Girl on the Train in 3 days. I really like the suspense/thriller type of books, and I love a good twist ending.
Any recommendations for anything like this that you've read lately?

Have you read the Millennium Trilogy? (The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo, The Girl Who Played With Fire, The Girl Who Kicked the Hornet's Nest). I really liked it, although I found a few scenes in the first one a bit...dark.

It's not new, but I really enjoyed Gravity by Tess Gerritsen. Another good one by her is Harvest.

In a dark dark wood - Ruth Ware. Very much like Girl on the Train but less annoying narrator (in my opinion.)

I liked Station Eleven way more than TGOTT.
I also loved "I Hunt Killers". It's a YA trilogy but its a good suspense beach read.

Thanks all! In the meantime, I was looking at books on amazon and ended up buying a paperwhite. Lol! I hope it's amazing, because I've been wanting one for a long time.

@Adira: This is on my wish list! I just finished the Red Rising trilogy (SO FUN), so maybe this will be a good one to try after that!

It was REALLY good, a little cheesy at a few parts but a great story overall... hope it definitely gets made into a movie.

You might like The Good Girl by Mary Kubica. It is similar to Girl on the Train and Gone Girl.
And I can never recommend The First Fifteen Lives of Harry August by Claire North enough, even though it's not really a thriller. The plot is a little difficult to explain but it is SO GOOD!!
