Our baby gate broke and we need to replace it. We had a white munchkin one that was metal and super loud, so I don't want to buy the same model. Any recommendations? We have a standard sized stairwell. Thanks!!!

I actually didn't put the gate at the tip top of the stairs. I wan't comfortable with doing that. I put it back a bit so that people could get up the stairs and take quite a few steps before having to deal with the gate. If that's an option for you, you can consider that and just use any regular gate that you have.
ETA: This is the gate I have and we are happy with it. https://www.bedbathandbeyond.com/store/product/dreambaby-reg-chelsea-hallway-auto-close-stay-open-security-gate-value-pack-in-white/1046645616?Keyword=baby+gate

We use the Kidco ones. Simple to install and not loud. We actually keep one at both the top and bottom of the stairs.

We have this one and I hate it. Even though I measured it’s just a tiny bit too short for our stair opening, and even though we fixed that by adding an extra piece on one side, it’s difficult to open and really tricky to close- so guests almost always do it incorrectly. So there is one I don’t recommend!

We have this one. We have a banister on one side and needed a stair mount kit plus an extra bit of wood from Home Depot to make it work but it’s sturdy.

We have this one:

Feels sturdy, has lasted over a year and has held up. We wall mounted the little circles that secure it in the wall which is the only way it is recommended at the top of the stairs.

We JUST got new ones for LO3 (like, literally last week) for the bottom of our stairs to 2nd level and the top of our stairs to the basement. We went with the Munchkin Loft Aluminum ones, and I love them! I specifically didn't want the "trip bar" (what we call it) that everyone always trips over if they aren't paying attention! They installed easy and seem really stable and safe.
They aren't auto-close, but we didn't want that so that we can leave them open if LOs aren't around/asleep.

We have this one and I've been very happy with it: https://babiesrus.toysrus.com/product?productId=32442806
As others have mentioned, it is great not to have the trip bar at the bottom. Also, we were able to install it so that there is a landing between the top stair and the gate, which feels safer for day-to-day use. It's strapped to the banister on one side, and bolted into the wall on the other. So far, it has stood up to a 60lb wrecking-ball of a dog and a mobile baby/toddler for 18 months, and still feels very sturdy!

we used the Evenflo Easy Walk Thru Top Of Stairs Gate - it was super easy to install and had no bottom bar and my toddler couldn’t open it!

We also have the one @hellobear posted and I’m happy with it so far!
We tried the Munchkin Loft Aluminum gate first but it was an inch too narrow for our stair opening. I did like the way it looked though!
