Can any fellow bees give me any recs or tips on a good soft chair for toddlers? I was looking at Pottery Barn Kids and such but wanted to know any other brands that you ladies like. DD just sits on her pile of stuffed animals when she reads and often topples off. =P

I was going to recommend the PBK Anywhere Chair. That's all I have experience with.

@mrs. bird: The family I work for has a pair of those and the kids love them. They are hard to tip and seem to be really comfortable.

We didn't get the pbk chair because it tips so easily. We have an orange pkolino and we love it!

I was going to suggest PBK or Land of Nod.
My daughter got a PBK personalized anywhere chair when she was 9 months old and has loved it and used it ever since! It's roomy and will last til she's at least 5 years old I'm guessing. I can sit in it comfortably -

We have one of the PBK ones, but we need another, and i was wondering if the Pikolino has a removable cover.

@looch: I'm looking at the P'Kolino chair right now and while it does have a zipper, it's not a removable washable cover (reviews say the manufacturer doesn't advise removing the cover?). I'm looking at this one because it has a smaller footprint than the PBK Anywhere chair for my mom's apt which is limited space. I will be ordering it to see what it's like and let you know? It should be here Wednesday.

We have the PB anywhere chair, and it really does tip easily if you have a climber, like we do. But he loves it, and we just keep it up against the wall. This weekend was his birthday party, and it was the first time he's ever showed any sort of crankiness about sharing, and it was over that chair.

Does anyone know if the PBK Anywhere chair is better/worse than the Land of Nod version? I like the LoN covers better, but more people seem to have and love the PBK chair. I have never seen either in person.

@mrs. wagon: How do you like the P'Kolino chair? It has a small footprint but do you think the kids can use it for some extended time? I just don't want it to be a short lived item.

@littleveesmommy: We love it! Wagon Jr. is shorter than average so he still fits fine in it at 3 years old. We chose it over other chairs because of its small footprint, plus the shape makes it less easy to tip (it's wider at the bottom than it is on the top). Plus it has a handle on the back for the kids to be able to drag it around, it's very light, and there are pockets on both sides for kids to store books in. I can't wait to get one for LMW!

@chopsuey119: I vote, since you're going to be moving into a beautiful custom house soon... two sets of chairs!! PBK chairs for each of their bedrooms (or maybe you don't even need one for J) and two p'kolinos in a little reading nook in the play room!!

@lemondrop: I ordered through Amazon and didn't think to check P'Kolino's website, which I just did AND THEY ARE ON SALE FOR $54.99 (vs. Amazon $69.95). I am not sure how long the sale is for. Also, if you sign up for their newsletter you get 10% off the first order.

@looch: After checking P'Kolino's website directly, they sell replacement covers which to me means that the old cover IS removable. If you look at the listing for the cover (http://www.pkolino.com/Little-Reader-Cover-p/pkfplcbl.htm) it instructs you to loop a paperclip into the zipper pull in order to unzip / remove the old cover. I'll take this as I can wash it, but I guess no guarantees on how it washes. Though if I can spot treat it, I can't imagine washing the cover on gentle cycle then air drying is going to damage it much. WOOT!

if you're going to get the PBK chair, get the regular or bigger sized one! not a big $ difference and a HUGE size difference.

@looch: The chair arrived a day early yesterday and so far, I love it! The footprint is small but seat area seems plenty. I bought it in purple and love that its slightly two toned plus the fabric is soft. I unzipped the bottom to check out the foam and it looks easy enough to remove for cleaning though the instructions say machine washing may remove some of the fabric'a water repelling feature.
I think this little lady is the ultimate judge.

Well, I was *thisclose* to ordering the P'Kolino off their website (thanks ladies for the heads up!) but I stopped in at Homegoods the other day and found a rocker toddler chair for $40, plus I had a giftcard, so I went for it. Once I got home I immediately removed the rockers (4 simple screws!) since I could foresee future trips to the ER if I left them on... he loves it... to stand on
I've spent the past few days working with him on sitting.
You will love the p'kolinos... the hardest part is choosing a color!!
