This made me so sad, I thought she was one of the more normal ones!

I think it sounds like what typically happens when people drink too much . . . only nobody gets to read about the stupid things they say in the newspaper/online.

ETA: She's an actress, no more, no less.

That sort of stuff makes me mad...you have the money hire yourself a car service or taxi for the ride home.

I think she's always had a good girl image, but people are people. Everyone makes mistakes. I wish I had run into her while she was in Atlanta!

Her comment about the cop becoming national news was hilarious because she really thought he would be the one embarrassed. Glad to know they were in a Focus and can't blame being targeted as celebrities in a luxury car.

I heard she actually was in NYC the next evening. I wonder about where her 3 kids were- jet setters with her c the whole c time or in one of the cities with nannies.

I still think she is adorable, she'll always be one of my favorite actresses. People do/say stupid things when they're drunk. It surprises me that her husband got a DUI in the first place, i'm sure they could very easily call a driver who would pick them up. I don't care for him, so this didn't change my view on him either lol

Not a fan..but the whole situation makes me sad. I wish it werent true but fame and money can give you an advantadge. Reese was not lucky this time arond and im glad!

@grizz: I have law enforcement in my family (one of my uncles is a police captain of a fairly large city), but I have been on the receiving end of some ridiculously nasty treatment from police officers . . . I was driving my then FI's car (actually, I wasn't *driving,* I was in a Chick-fil-A drive through and the cop pulled in behind me), and the tags on the car were expired (by like, literally, 12 hours). I didn't mind the ticket (rules are rules), but he went out of his way to humiliate me and he was horrible to me (I was driving a really nice foreign sports car).

I mention all of that to say that while what she said was way out of line and inappropriate, as flat as a pancake may be, there are two sides.

Sounds like she was scared because she hadn't gotten into trouble before...but what @happygirl said is a concern too!

I think she made a stupid, embarrassing choice of words...but honestly nothing any celebrity says to cops or otherwise really surprises me.

I am totally glad she made this statement. I hoped that she had also had too much to drink and it had gotten to her. She never did strike me as the type of girl to think that way about herself.

I definitely am not a fan of her husband drunk driving, and as a PP said, they have the money for a keys please or taxi or whatever to get them home safely. No excuses!

I am not surprised at all by the 'celebrity status' thing. She was on a radio station here in Australia a while back, and mid interview she said she didnt like their questions and hung up, even though the interview had just started and was one question in.

Since then, I really don't like her- to me that's not down to earth at all.

I actually hold her just as much responsible as her husband. Yes, he happened to be the one driving, but they clearly had been drinking together. She knew how much he had to drink and apparently didn't have a problem getting in the car with him and letting him drive.
