Anyone else counting down? DH finds out where he is matching in a few short hours...and we find out if we are moving or staying put!

That's so exciting. Yesterday for "throw back thursday" my good friend posted pictures from her match day and they are hilarious.

I'm counting down the hours for one of my best friends... her DH found out neurosurgery on Monday and I'm just waiting to hear WHERE at noon. SO EXCITED.

@MamaCate: Oh man- good luck. This was us last year! I was 8 months pregnant and almost passed out on stage. We were on the local news because I had a very dramatic reaction to finding out he got his first choice/ we didn't have to move with a 4 week old baby.
So glad that is over.
I hope you guys get what you are hoping for!

My husband's best friend is waiting and he (my husband) is nervous. They don't want to separate!!

I work in a hospital, so all the residents and interns are always excited and a little distracted on Match Day. It's always fun to find out who's going where. Good luck!

Thanks for the good wishes everyone! We are staying here which was our first choice and DH is really happy with the other people from his program who are staying too. A very good day for us!!!

I didn't realize that it was a standardized day across the country for everyone. One of my friend's sister is dating a guy and he found out today, too.

@MamaCate: Congratulations! my husband stayed at the same place he went to school at and is really happy with his decision. In addition to it being a fantastic program, there is less of a learning curve in intern year, and you are familiar with the attending MDs. Plus....you don't have to move!
ETA: what did he match in? my husband is in pediatrics

@Silva: pediatrics too! We have a 2 y.o. and I have a career so it would have been a challenge to move although we were obviously willing to make it work if needed. He really likes the faculty here so he is really excited! I am excited too but I need to figure out what it means for my work. That is a worry for another day though.
So glad you guys got to stay put and your DH has been happy with the decision!!
