I had to take my wedding rings off around 32 weeks because of swelling. My hands/fingers are still not back to normal 2 weeks postpartum. They're still all tingly feeling but getting better. If you had this happen, when were you able to wear your rings again? I'm praying they don't have to be resized.

At 2 months pp I had them resized. Then the ended up being too big.

@ladybee: Eek, that's also what I'm afraid of! Resizing them and then having them end up too big!

@LindsayInNY: DH kept telling me not to but I wanted to wear them asap. Then my fingers continued to shrink and then they were too big.

I was able to sqeeze them on 19 days pp for newborn photos. I could wear them normally a few weeks after that.

I think it was about a month or 6 weeks or so. I really wouldn't resize them for at least 6 months. I know a couple people who never could get them on again but I don't think it's that common. I was super swollen my rings were off by the second trimester!

It was probably 2-3 months? By then it was winter so my hands were less swollen.

I had mine resized after a few months, but it ended up being only a half size bigger. 13 months later the new size still fits.

Following! I just had to give mine up at 35 weeks... Sometimes at night I can wear them, but days they are just too tight. I also don't want them to be resized... I miss wearing them so much!

I had mine on, comfortably, for newborn hospital pictures, so a couple days pp. I had to wait for some of the IV fluids to make their way out of my system and then I was fine.

Um, 9 months for me. I'm 2 months PP and mine still don't fit this time around, yet (especially in summer)

10 months PP and I still can't wear my eternity wedding band. I think I have to add a diamond and resize

Glad you asked, I have been wondering the same thing. I SQUEEZED them on for the newborn shoot but had to use baby oil to get them off.

It was about 6 weeks with my first before I could jam them on. With my second, though, my fingers strangely shrunk, and now 10 weeks pp, they're still much too big. So I would not resize just yet, lol.

Maybe 2ish weeks or so and they fit again.

I totally forget how long it took to get them back on, but I did get them back on eventually without resizing.

Mine fit around 12 weeks pp.

Mine fit around 3 wks pp w ds1. He was a late fall baby and I preemptively stopped wearing the rings around 32/3 wks!
This time I kept rings on until 35? 36? Wks and hope they'll be back on sooner than later!

A solid 8 weeks, I believe. I was super upset too, I felt like it was an indication of my weight loss (or lack thereof) and was terrified I'd have to go back to work without my rings. In fact I was losing weight, it just took a while for the water retention/swelling to go down. I'm glad I didn't get them resized.

Mine didn't fit until I lost all the baby weight. I think it was about five months.

Comfortably, about 4-5 mos. It did not seem at all related to weight loss, they just suddenly fit again one day.

It took awhile for me the first time... maybe 2-4 months? At 6w pp they still don't fit this time...

DH and I were just talking about this last night. 7 weeks pp and they still don't fit even though I've lost the weight gained during pregnancy. I'm still wearing my stand in fakie. I'm going to wait until after summer to think about getting them resized. I heard it can take up until six months postpartum. I haven't worn them since I took them off at 18 weeks pregnant

@LindsayInNY: didn't you have high blood pressure? Mine is still up and I imagine that is one of my issues, too.

I would definitely wait at least 6 months and until the warmer weather has passed. My hands swell in the summer normally, and my rings spin in the winter. So I would keep in mind that the swelling might not go down until the cooler weather comes around!
