My husband sent me this article today about Robert Mathis' four game suspension for Clomid use: http://deadspin.com/robert-mathis-picks-a-ped-fight-with-the-nfl-hes-not-go-1578394706?utm_campaign=socialflow_deadspin_twitter&utm_source=deadspin_twitter&utm_medium=socialflow

Before I actually read the article, I immediately felt for him as I was sure that it was embarrassing making the fertility struggles he and his wife were having, public. I can't even imagine if DH and I had to do a press release about ours!!

I also felt that it was unfair that the NFL was commenting on Clomid not being FDA approved for male infertility. I know a lot of people whose husbands have used Clomid even though it's not FDA approved for that use. I am using Lupron for my current IVF cycle, and it's not FDA approved for IVF, though widely used for that purpose.

However, in continuing to read, I was surprised to see that Clomid is one of the most popular performance enhancing drugs used in sports.

I would hope that Mathis is telling the truth, but I guess you never know. If he is being truthful, I do feel bad that he and his wife's struggles to conceive had to be made so public, but also understand that the NFL has rules and protocols to follow.

What does everyone think?
