My LO alternates between the crib and rock and play. She has a small, flat bald spot... I would definitely ask your dr if you are concerned!

My LO napped all the time in the rock n play. She does have a flat head, but I wasn't good about doing tummy time and positioning her head in the crib either. My pediatrician says flat heads are pretty common since the whole "back to sleep" campaign and it won't be that noticeable once she gets older.

My LO used the RNP for naps during the day, but we used a bassinet at night. She does not have a flat head, thankfully.

We never used an RNP but my daughter slept (always on one side) in a bassinet. At four months our doctor noticed a little flat spot on the side and suggested turning her to the other side. I could never see the spot, though. And she got older and it stopped being an issue.

If you can physically see a spot you likely would have had one no matter how hard you tried to prevent it. Don't feel bad! It'll probably go away, but if not, it can be fixed.

We used it at night but not for naps. We held A alot and did tummy time thankfully she never got a flat head.

Our baby mostly sleeps in the crib, but occasionally in the rep. He has a flat head an may need a helmet. Pediatrician said it would have happened regardless of which he slept in and to do more tummy time

I think the car seat and swing are worse for flat head than the rnp because they are hard. My lo uses the rock and play overnight and his head is great although he has a bald spot right in the middle.

I can also attest to head shape fixing itself. Lo was a micro preemie so he laid on one side of his head or another for a very long time. Preemie's often get "toaster head" - horrible name! We were very careful about switching him from side to side but sometimes his head really was flat. After working on positioning it fixed itself pretty quickly. I think older babies take a bit longer.

LO was a swing baby and did get a flat head, but insurance won't cover the helmet (neurologist said its unnecessary) and its not so bad, her hair will cover it. Also the majority of her flatness is genetic, according to the neurologist we saw. I have it, my mom has it, etc. But prior to seeing a specialist we were told to do lots of tummy time and change her position.. (LO was stubborn though, would tip her head one way when the rest of her body was the other way and started rolling belly to back at 2.5 months.) Anyway I didn't have a rnp but I think it's a combination of things not just a rnp. Mine spent nights in the pnp. It does tend to be more prevalent in "good sleepers" though, or at least that's what I read.
