My Rock N Play's arrived yesterday and we assembled them last night. As I was looking at the buckles, I wondered do you ladies swaddle your LO's and buckle them in or just swaddle and don't buckle? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Personally, I swaddle and don't buckle since she's so little she can't really move around much in there once she's swaddled. As she gets older and bigger I plan to just buckle her over the swaddle I suppose.

I only swaddled in the first week I was home - then I just wrapped him - we don't buckle, not till he gets bigger

I never used the buckle. My son is big (almost 10 lbs at birth) and there wasn't much room for him to move once he was swaddled so it didn't seem necessary.

I swaddle his lower half (he hated having his arms tucked in) and didn't buckle. I pushed the buckles through the slots and tucked them underneath.
I only used the buckles when he was sitting up and I could feed him in it. -
I always use the buckles and dont swaddle. my baby is not a newborn anymore and she wouls climb right out if I didnt buckle her in

I buckle around the swaddle. It helps keep her propped up so she doesn't slump as much. She's just a peanut though so there is plenty of room to get the buckle around the swaddle.

LO is 4 weeks and we buckle but don't swaddle.

I put a super soft blanket over the whole thing and just swaddle her.

LO is 5 weeks and we swaddle and sometimes buckle if her feet are in a good spot where she still has a little movement. If they feel wedged I don't buckle. But like some PPs said, using the buckle keeps her from slumping down which upsets her and smooshws her airway when her head is slumped down
