Maybe it's just me, but this looks like a user error. Since our rock n play gets a lot of use, I wash the fabric part every week (or when it gets wet from a leaky diaper.) I also wipe down the plastic part with a Lysol wipe.
Just thought I'd put this out there so you can check yours for mold in case you don't clean it regularly.

Wow I'm surprised by this. we wash ours frequently too and I've never seen mould. I will check it tonight

Oh geez! I just washed ours this weekend and we were fine. That's kind of freaky. I wonder how wet these things would need to be to develop mold???

I also heard that by adding a waterproof pad that is washed frequently can help with getting the actually thing dirty.

Imagine that, mold can grow when something stays damp and/or you don't clean it properly! lol. Maybe just keep it in the dryer a little longer? Or put it outside in the sun--that would kill any potential mold spores

definitely not a user error.
I had to return a RNP to them for this reason. Mold can grow on the sling that can't be removed, and it certainly can't be washed properly once it starts growing.
I called them (months back) and they shipped me a free replacement hassle free.
ETA - I am the most anal, cleanest person I know - so I definitely know how to clean products and keep things dry!
