This might be a totally stupid questions so I apologize in advance. If your baby slept in the rock n play for naps or overnight, did you buckle them in? I have been meaning to ask this ever since we set it up and I keep forgetting!

I haven't. I'm sure I should, but he isn't mobile enough yet to move in it. Once he starts to roll unassisted we'll move him to his crib to sleep or buckle him in.

Nope! She definitely can't get out yet! Plus I swaddle her so the leg part won't go between her legs

I didn't until she got big enough to sit herself up, which was around 9 months or so.

@blackbird: I forgot about the swaddle - I guess that would make it tough to buckle

Never did at night. She was swaddled and we stopped using it once she could sit herself up in it. She did get strapped in when she was just playing in it though.

My sister didn't when my nephew was in there. She stopped using it once he could pull himself up to sitting, though-- then, even strapped in, he kind of flopped forward in a way that didn't look comfortable or safe (that was somewhere between 4 and 6 months I think).

he started pulling up to sit (or trying) at 4 months so that's when I started buckling for naps and putting him in his crib. Didn't feel safe anymore.

Thanks Our plan is to only use it until we move baby to the crib and maybe after for naps so it is good to know when we should start buckling!

No, we didn't! He was out if it before he got big enough to move around

We bucked it around the foot of the swaddle for the first week or so that she came home because we were crazy first time parents She slept in it swaddled for all naps and nights 'til 5 months and we never bucked it again.

Nope! They were swaddled and not nearly mobile enough to worry about.

Nope! She was swaddled and not mobile enough to get out on her own.

I guess I'm the only weirdo who did!! I buckled around the swaddle because I liked that it helped keep her from scooching down and slumping in there.

Every once in awhile we do, but not consistently. He's 4 months now and just starting to become more mobile, so we probably will soon.

No bc he was swaddled and was tiny! We quit the r and p around 4 months though
