When did you LO roll over? K rolled over once over a month ago (on a bed). Hasn't done it since.
Did your LO get REALLY frustrated during this phase? She will get upset sitting in any kind of seat and when she gets mad laying down, will use her feet to PUSH. But she gets really mad and cries out. DH said it's how she'll learn to roll over, but I never know if I should pick her up when she's crying or let her try to figure out the rolling over?
She's 15 weeks.

LO rolled front to back at 11 weeks, but didn't go back to front til 7 months! she definitely took "breaks" for awhile too.

C didn't learn until 6 months. She learned back to belly first and then got pissed off A LOT for about 2 weeks before she learned belly to back.

Elliot got really frustrated with that phase too! He would do those same things and he HATED tummy time with a passion. He didn't roll over consistently until 5 months and it was like day and night. One day I was convinced he'd never roll over and the next day he was rolling across the room!

Yes - very frustrated! She would roll randomly here and there but not consistently until right about 4.5 months or so. Now there's no stopping her!

L totally got frustrated. In the beginning she'd rock from side to side but not have enough momentum to make it the whole way over. She rolled front to back at 11 weeks and back to front at 13. By fifteen she was rolling both ways quickly and around the room.

But I guess my main question is if they were super frustrated to the point of crying while trying to learn to roll over? I feel like K is so frustrated and mad to be lying down or sitting, which is the only time when she will TRY to push off with her legs? DH says that's how she'll learn. But she gets so upset!

Oh yes - any time she was on her stomach she was crying! I thought she would never master the roll over b/c she just hated being down there so much. And I hated seeing her like that, so wouldn't push her to be there for more than a few minutes. But then I guess it all just clicked one day and now she loves being on her stomach, propped up on her arms.

C rolled over belly to back at 2 months, I think because she REALLY disliked tummy time. She didn't roll the other way and all around the room til 5.5 months, and she did stop rolling completely for the month or so before that (I think as she got chubbier!). She was pretty frustrated about being on her tummy, but she didn't get upset about being on her back. She loved to lay on her back and look at things and kick her legs. It was sort of sudden that she started rolling. A week later she easily rolled all over the place!

@shopaholic: He would throw a frustrated fit when he tried...I would let him try for a few minutes at a time...no more than 5, and then we'd try again later (same thing with tummy time). If it was DH with him he'd let him go longer, because he thought that letting him physically work out the frustration would help muscle development.
He rolled from back to front the first time around 4 months and front to back closer to 5 months.

I can leave her on her back for a good 20 min. or so before she gets upset. But doesn't try to roll either way yet, unless she's upset. I guess that's why I'm confused if she's trying or just upset.

well, he never got frustrated, which might be the reason why he rolled over super late -- i think he just really had no interest and didn't care!
he rolled over a few times from 4-6 months, but didn't really do it reliably till 8 months or so! he's all caught up in his milestones now, though

@shopaholic: She might just be getting bored after 20 minutes, and need a change of position or to be picked up.
Right now she is into crawling and anytime we hold her (unless we're showing her a book or toy or we're walking somewhere) she arches her back and tries to get away and kicks the ground and makes this angry looking face! So it could be that your lo is frustrated because I definitely relate to the arched back as being a frustration sign.

A rolled over the first time we put her down for tummy time which was at 5 weeks. She has done it every time we lay her on her tummy.
The dr was shocked when we said she could do it and 'tested' her on the exam table and she immediately flipped right over for her lol
She said we will likely have a very early walker.

he started rolling from back to front, only from the left side at 3 months. he did it for a whole month, then just stopped at 4 months! that's when he worked on learning to sit up by himself. at 5 months, he started rolling over again, but still just back to front and only from the left. finally he figured it all out at about 6 months.

@shopaholic: Does she roll on her side at all? R is kicking all the time now and sort of scooting herself. Doesn't like to be strapped in. But she will roll on her side but isn't trying to roll onto her belly. She doesn't seem close to rolling belly to back.

I would let her get a little frustrated. That's how they work through it! I always let Sadie fuss a little bit, but I would pick her up if she got angry or very upset (crying real tears, bright red face, etc.).
