We're TTC, and my DH and I are throwing around the idea of using Rosamund as a name if we have another little girl.
I think it's most commonly pronounced ROZ-ah-mund (like the actress, Rosamund Pike). We wouldn't use a nickname.
How do you feel about the name?

I like it OK, but I would have pronounced it ROSE-uh-mund until I ready your description. So she might get t mispronounced a fair amount.

Very pretty! I am slightly biased as I have a Ro$a!yn pronounced roz-a-lyn. I will say she does get her name pronounced as rose-a-lyn sometimes.

I like it! I would pronounce it Rose-a-mund though. My friend named one of her twins that and it is so pretty.

I would have a tough time not saying a long "o" and "u", as it would be pronounced in German...in which case it means "Rose mouth".

It's just alright for me. I would mispronounce it with the "rose" sound. I much prefer other variations: Rosalie, Rosalyn.

I like the actress! I wanted Rosalie as a middle name when DD was born but DH didn't. I think it didn't go with her first name.

I want to like it, but cannot seem to get past the "mund" part of the name. I think I am just not used to it. I don't hate it.

It's ok. Reminds me of Downton Abbey. Also seems like a "big" name for a child if that makes sense. I prefer just plain old Rose.

Thanks for the input! I think we're taking it off our list, because I don't want to doom our child to a fate where she has to correct people's pronunciation of her name!
