So I'm writing a separate post about RJ to keep from novella-ing all over you guys So RJ has had a low-grade fever since Friday afternoon, but the past 2 mornings he woke up with fevers of 104.9 and 105.2. We are so lucky to have a pediatrician who's open 7 days a week, so we took him in on Sunday and they suspected either a UTI or Roseola since he had no other symptoms other than the high fever. His high fever has been very well managed by ibuprofen (brings it down to 99 or less every time) but of course the high number really scares me. They asked us to try and get a urine sample but we couldn't, so when he woke up again this morning with the even higher fever we took him in again. They said on Sunday that if we don't get a urine sample they'd have to do it via catheter in the office, but when we went in today they were able to put a bag on him and he peed into it! Why the heck didn't they do that yesterday?? Anyway, he tested negative for a UTI (just like Mommy...) so their guess now is Roseola and we're just waiting for the fever to break. Should be tonight or tomorrow, we're hoping.

I thought he had already had Roseola when he was younger because he had a really high fever that lasted a few days then went away overnight, and I thought I had just missed the rash during the night.

It's so frustrating that he and I have both been ill since Friday and neither of us has a definite diagnosis yet.

Any ideas other than Roseola?
