When my parents had time and I cooperated I brought my lunch. Otherwise I bought it. By junior high I always bought it. I could barely get my locker open 3-4 tries, so I tried to avoid having to go in there as much as possible. Buying lunch saved time.

I always bought and that's probably what Xander will have to do. One less thing for me to worry about in the morning!

I took packed lunch everyday except fridays when I was allowed to have a school lunch. I think I will have a similar set up for my daughter. Right now she is daycare and even though they offer a hot meal in the toddler room I will pack her a lunch

We brought our lunch, sandwiches mostly. I knew we ran out of cold cuts when I got cream cheese and jelly, I still can not eat that to this day!

We would only be able to buy lunch for the week, not the day, occassionally I would be allowed to buy a weekly ice cream ticket...no idea if that's still possible.

In grade school I brought my lunch, which were really boring and I always wanted to buy but couldn't. My kids will be taking a lunch and I hope I'm diligent enough to make them interesting!

I took my own lunch until we moved. Then lunch was $1.50 or so, so it was cheaper to buy. It was a small school; the lunch lady often made things we wanted (her daughter was on the basketball team with me, so we got a lot of influence, lol!)

LO will take, unless the school lunches get a lot better around here!

I always bought my lunch. In elementary school I spent an entire year switching luches with my BFF who brought her lunch. Her parents wouldn't let her buy lunch and I was sick of school food. Haha. I'll pack lunch for my kids though. Maybe let them buy lunch once a week.

I just looked at the menus for elementary school in my town, it costs $2.20 per day and looks (mostly) reasonable. Friday is pizza day.
