I hate that my kids are growing up in a world where school isn't safe anymore.

Ugh. I fear this every single day. For myself as a teacher and for my son as a student.

Very close to home... Marysville is an hour and a half or so north of Seattle. I believe it may be part of a reservation too.

This frustrates me and makes me so angry. It keeps happening and yet I know once again nothing will change and it'll just happen again.

This was my high school. Not in Seattle, but a small, family friendly suburb about 40 miles north. School is not on a reservation, but Tulalip Reservation is nearby. Small town but largest high school in the state.
Pretty upset at the news...I know a lot of teachers there.

So, so terrifying.
Seriously, every morning when I drive DS to school I think of this. I think of Sandy Hook. And I just pray it won't happen.

Terrible. There are just so many things that make me angry when these events occur (besides the obvious). So scary.

The news reported that he was crowned Homecoming King just a few days ago on Oct 17th. The people he shot at were a table of his friends.

@Mrs. High Heels: Yeah, I also read that he was a popular student that recently was bullied.
Yeah, I work in Seattle and saw all text alerts come through.
So far the student gunmen is dead and killed one other student. I think he shot 5 students.
Scary and sad to have it so close.
Hope the other students survive.
