Mine was at night. They gave me a very specific time since it was for IVF and the timing had to be just right for retrieval. Are you doing IUI or timed intercorse? If IUI they might want you to do it at a specific time, but for TI maybe you should do the shot depending on when you'll have time to BD? Good luck!!

If it were me, I'd call and request a specific time.

If I didn't, and had a failed cycle, I'd blame myself for not triggering at the right time

i always had a very specific time, as well. 36 hours before the iui.

They always told me when to do it. Not a specific time, but like "Tuesday evening". I liked to do it later in the evening because I figured 36 hours to O, and then another 12 hours to catch it. So by doing it later in the evening we'd have another chance to BD. So if I triggered Tuesday at 9:00pm I'd figure I'd O about 9am on Thursday and we'd have until 9pm that night to get it on.

@twodoghouse: I am told by my RE to do it 12 hr before my first iui, they do b2b IUIs one 12 after trigger and one 36hr after trigger!

I agree about roughly 36 hours before...which would be tonight, right? Looking back at my spreadsheets I had an IUI at 10am on a Saturday and noted that I needed to trigger on Thursday night.

Mine was for IVF, but I did it at 11:30pm on a Thursday night and my retreival was early Saturday morning, though I don't remember the exact time of the retrieval. I was given a very specific time. But again, for IVF.
I would agree with the others. I'd either call the on-call doc and ask for a specific time, or just do it 36 hours before. That seems to be the norm!

Agree that I was told to about 36 hours before the procedure. Given that we had some trouble with DH's collection that morning it was probably closer to 40 hours before and it worked.

I looked back on notes on mine was less than 36 b/c I had a mature follicle they didn't want to miss. I triggered at 2 pm and went in the next day at 11. They really encouraged doing it as soon as I got the message and they seemed a little concerned about the timing. I had to wait b/c they wanted the bloodwork to confirm what they were seeing in the ultrasound.

I would call and get a specific time. I usually had my IUIs at around 11 am and did the trigger at 5 pm at night.

chiming in with another 36 hours before IUI. they'd give me a window, like anytime 9-11pm for a 10am IUI 36 hours later.
