If you use a smartphone or tablet, do you leave the auto-sigline on? Turn it off?
I turn it off because I feel like I'm wasting electrons ha. But it's not a big deal either way, in my book.
Do you have a sigline on your mail? What does it say?

i hate it and take it off right away, every time i switch to a new phone

I seriously didn't know it could be removed!
So yes, mine is on there.

I don't think my tablet ever did that default, but if it did I definitely would have turned it off immediately.

@Mrs. Jump Rope: it's in the Settings app! Mail > Signature, I think.
honeydew / 7917 posts
I don't have it turned off in my settings but make sure to erase it before I send a message from my phone. Maybe I should just go into my settings and change it....

I keep it on a) didn't know I could remove it and b) signals that I am not at my desk.
cantaloupe / 6206 posts
Yeah I leave it on, although if I were less lazy I would change it to "Sent from my smart phone; please excuse typos and brevity" or something - I see that a lot and like it.
pomegranate / 3411 posts
i leave it on and then i don't feel bad sending one word replies like "yes" rather than "hi Jane, sure that sounds good - Californiadreams"

I leave it on, because to me, it's an excuse for typos and brevity!
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
I don't have this and I used to not like seeing it in e-mails, but now I DO kind of like it because it explains why someone might have sent a really short and terse e-mail!
wonderful olive / 19353 posts
I changed it to say "Regards, (name)" because I reply to work emails from my phone since my work signature doesn't transfer to my personal phone.

I changed mine to my first name. I don't mind seeing other people's sig lines being "sent from my mobile device" though, like Mrs. Lemon Lime it signifies to me that people aren't at their desktops at the moment and short responses can be attributed to being on mobile!

I turn it off, it's just advertising and really for what I paid for my apple products I don't need to be giving them the added benefit of free advertising with all e-mails sent from my mobile devices! (Cuz, you know, the huge apple on my macbook or the unmistakable black casing on my phone aren't enough free advertising)

I leave it on especially when I'm emailing consultants from my phone on the way to work or away from my desk. I use it more as an "on the go" feature like a quick reply, etc.
pear / 1992 posts
I turned mine off but am considering putting something personal or more snappy in its place.
A friend of mine changed hers to say, "sent by carrier pigeon". I like that one

I don't have an iPhone but Android does the signature at the end, as well. It's off on my gmail but on on my work email.

I didn't know you could turn it off, I just used to erase it. I will definitely be fixing it asap. I hate it because it kind of comes off as smug to me.
hostess / wonderful honeydew / 32460 posts
I keep it on so ppl know when I'm mailing from my phone. hah.
pear / 1787 posts
I always erase it. I think it looks unprofessional, and it really drives me nuts to get emails from students with it--they somehow think it excuses typos and poor grammar. Sorry kids, I'm your writing instructor--not gonna fly!

I leave mine on (although it is not an iphone) so people know where it is coming from. I,never send work related emails from my phone, though.
honeydew / 7916 posts
I turned it off because I don't want to know when someone is emailing from their iphone/ipad and don't think they should have to know when I am.
