Okay, give, save my marriage. 
DH wants to apply weed killer to our yard because he hates dandelions.
I want to stick with organic/natural stuff because our kids will play on the yard all the time, and DS2 eats grass like its his job.
Is there a middle ground? Bonus points if it is on Amazon prime.

@jedeve: we do the weed killer. We just don't play on the grass for a day. He does the front yard, so we play our back. Then he does the back yard, and we play our front.
Our yard is dandelion city though. It's REALLY bad.

Oh I hate dandelions!
We have a lawn service treat ours and they say its kid/pet safe* after it dries.
*not sure if that includes eating it

Our lawn service says to give it 24 hours, but DH likes to wait until it rains to let LO back in the yard.

I'm with you, I'd be upset about spraying chemicals on the yard. They don't just disappear in 24 hours and have a slew of health risks associated with them.
This is one of those topsy turvy ideas, spray stuff that's bad for you and butterflies and critters to get rid of something good for you.
I do uproot them if they are taking over. It takes care of the problem without the chemicals

I don't have a solution, but I absolutely don't let DH spray pesticides or herbicides on our yard, and we don't have a LO here yet. Our dogs love eating grass, but even if they didn't, those chemicals are terrible for the environment. They get into the ground water, and the air. Not happening at my house.

We won't do chemicals on the lawn. Not good for us, pets, wildlife, or the environment. At my old house I pulled them out, but at this house the lawn is too big, so I will be embracing nature!

We uproot the offending dandelions. No chemicals needed. We play in that yard, my dog plays in that yard. If we put anything down I would make sure it was completely safe for LO and animals.

We don't do chemicals either. We had grubs and we used milky spore or something or other.

Can you use a natural weed killer? I've heard of vinegar or boiling water being used.

Salt, then pull! Lots of work, but much safer! I did this when I had a yard. Only used spray for rocks in the front and along the sidewalk, and that was pet safe. Dandelions are the worst!

Whenever DH uses weed killer or fertilizer we just avoid the yard for a couple days (to make sure it has absorbed). Wish he would stop doing both front and back at the same time because it makes letting the dog out very difficult.

We love dandelions ... They are such a great piece of the pollination/bee picture. When they get crazy, we just pull them. We don't use any chemicals on our lawn/garden.

Does anyone have any recommendations for a non-chemical weed killer and/or lawn fertilizer? I know chemicals are bad, but DH santa a nice lawn and so I need to find a product that will allow for both!!

@jedeve: I've not used this technique, but my sister says she kills dandelions in her yard by boiling water in a tea pot and pouring it onto to base of the plant. They key is to not splash water too much or it will kill the grass, too.

You are going to hate my solution, but we dig out each and every dandelion by it's roots. We have a dandelion free lawn, but it takes a ton of effort!

@jedeve: I'm not sure about a non-chemical week killer. We've sprayed our lawn for dandelions in the past, but this will be LO's first summer up and moving, so I'm not sure what we'll do.
As far as a fertilizer goes, we use Milorganite which is safe for pets and children according to the company. A lot of golf courses use it. It's actually made from treated waste water in Milwaukee. http://www.milorganite.com/
