Hoping someone with a little more knowledge than me can help me here.

I bought a long sleeve maternity rash guard for this summer. It was on clearance and less than $12, so I'm ok that it wasn't perfect.

I'd like to make it short sleeves. The sleeves are black and too hot. Can I just cut them at the elbow? Do you think I need to hem them or can they just roll a little? Anything special to hem stretchy material? It's nylon spandex. Like I said it does not need to be prefect, just comfortable.
