What part of sex is it that is said to jump start labor?
I've read that:
A) semen can help dilate the cervix
B) your own personal orgasm can stimulate contractions
So....which is it? Sex is no fun right now so I need to know which parts I can skip and still get the job done (i.e. get this baby out)....

wow, I was just about to post the same question! I'm only 24 weeks so certainly not trying to bring on labour, but orgasming hasn't been high on the priority list lately and I doubt it'll get any higher as I get bigger and more uncomfortable!! I'm hoping that the semen will do the trick when the time comes.....

I have heard both, but DH and I have DTD several times already, and this baby is going NOWHERE.

Some induction medications are made from extracts from pig and bull semen.
So... tell DH to whip some up and turkey baster your cervix?

there was no way in hell that i was anywhere near O towards the end.. so if that's the one that works, we didn't test it.
p.s. i don't think sex does anything for me/labor!

I felt like a big whale the last month, did not feel sexy at all. I could hardly breathe. It was really awkward too. Not fun at all.

I heard it's all a wives tale... but I would assume that an orgasm would stimulate the contractions. We tried.... it didn't work....

Also, prostaglandins in semen act to ripen the cervix.
I'm not even close to my due date, but somehow I've heard and read that!

I've heard both, but mostly the ingredients in semen. Didn't work for me
