Soooo what are the rules or myths you have heard about having sex during the tww. I'm curious if it actually effects implantation. I have heard some couples wait up to 6 weeks before dtd again if they get a BFP.

I never heard anything about it one way or another-- but there usually was a bit of a break since we were pretty conscientious about doing it a lot while I was ovulating!

HMM I've never heard of this, but if there's a truth to it, it probably affected us getting pregnant. We were always doing the deed in the TWW, usually about EOD.

I've never heard about this either - we usually were less frequent during the TWW after lots of BD, but the month we got our BFP we DTD lots during the TWW because we were on vacation!

I've heard of pelvic rest being ordered during fertility treatments like IVF (and they don't do it in all IVF situations) or after a BFP with that kind of treatment or when a m/c is possible. I've been told "absolutely nothing up there except Endometrin".

I figured it was a crazy myth. There is no better reference then HB!

In my ivf cycles, I am not allowed to have sex post transfer and this prohibition continues for several weeks after a positive pregnancy cycle.. The doctors fear that uterine spasms will interfere with implantation or the pregnancy so the no sex rule is part of a lot of ivf protocols. That being said, once you are at the ivf stage, you don't want anything, however tiny, to mess with your chances. I certainly never stopped having sex during my natural cycles.

@raintreebee: Agreed, I think if you weren't allowed to a doctor would have told you by now. Although I'm not in an IVF cycle I'm being treated like I'm in one and am not allowed until at least 12 weeks.

@spaniellove: Wow. 12 weeks. Not gonna lie. That would be *very* hard for me!
