Did you start having sex more frequently to get labor started ?? At 37 was I told DH we may need to do the deed a good bit more these next few week - haha ! I'm so ready to be done and baby to be here !!

It's actually not really substantiated whether it helps or not. Have you tried Evening Primrose Oil? I feel like it helped me.
I went bowling, haha, that's what finally got the party started for me.

We tried, but it didn't help (and was massively uncomfortable). Well, I lost part of my mucus plug during (hello TMI!) but I had had a cervical check earlier that day so I don't think it was related to the sex.
I think what kick-started my labor was actually trying out my double electric breast pump, haha.

It was awkward and horrible, but yes we did try that. DH still won't let me live it down hahahaha

God no. I wanted nothing to do with that by the end of pregnancy. As uncomfortable as I was.... Not worth it.

We DTD and I went into labor the next day. Probably just a coincidence tho.

We tried it but I don't know if it worked or not. Could have been coincidental. I do know I walked walked walked, and bounced on my yoga ball and I really think that helped.

We had sex every single day (kid you not) at the bitter end. It didnt do a thing and I had to be induced.
And I don't think it's the sex itself that is supposed to help...it's the semen.

We tried but it didn't do anything. It was worth a shot. I think it's the orgasm that is supposed to start contractions. Ehhhh

The lady who taught our childbirthing class told us that it really can help because the semen does something similar to (some drug) that helps thin the cervix and cause dialation or something like that and an orgasm releases oxtocin (similar reaction to pitocin). All I could think was, "Seriously, can any woman have an orgasm at 9 months pregnant?!?!" It seems like the general uncomfortableness would seriously inhibit feeling frisky in the first place, much less attaining the big O.

Well, DH and I had sex one night and I went into labor the next morning...so I'm a bit more of a believer on that one now. A combo of semen, orgasm, and nipple stimulation could be surprisingly effective!
@Mrs. Blue: Believe it or not, it is possible. Aaaaand now I've totally overshared on the internets...

TMI, but you definitely can have an orgasm at 9 months pregnant. DH saw the thread and insisted I weigh in.
