I just booked our newborn photos! Well, reserved I guess you could say, since I don't know when she'll arrive. I am so excited!
Thought this would be a cute thread to share some of your newborn photos - whether professional, personal or otherwise! I'm looking for inspiration

Here is our slideshow so you can see lots of pics. He was 4 days old and still jaundiced. Hours after the photo session we were re-admitted to the hospital so he could have some phototherapy for a couple of days to get over the jaundice.

@regberadaisy: we didn't get any either....i semi-regret it. I figure we will get holiday pictures and yearly portraits taken of her, so we'll have them every since months:)

@regberadaisy: there are some photographers that charge more for newborn than I paid for my wedding! (which for the record was around $1200 for a full day and rights to the photos with 2 photographers, lol!). I found a semi-up and coming photog who does newborn (and weddings) and she's only charging $150, and we get a cd with the images and rights to print. If I had to pay more than that I wouldn't have booked her...we're tight on money too

I'm so happy we were able to get newborn pics done, I didn't think we'd be able to afford it. Our photog gave us a great deal and basically gave us both a maternity and newborn session with digital rights and some prints for the price of one.

@kiddosc: We also did maternity and newborn as a package, but paid in two parts.
@sorrycharlie: I can see why NB photos may be more expensive. First of all, you never know when you'll actually need the photographer, so booking a date is awkward, and 2nd of all, the subject is tricky. My photographer said a sleepy baby is easiest to photograph, and so I thought we'd be in luck, since with the jaundice he was soooooo sleepy. But as soon as we got to the photographer's house, LO was ultra-awake and half-sleeping, leading to many photos not looking good because of half-open eyes.

@sorrycharlie: that's a GREAT deal! I was trying to find one for $250 that will also give us a CD. The few that I found I just did not like their style.
@bpcmarj: def no shortage of pictures. But the newborn pics are so sweet! hehe.

@regberadaisy: thanks! She also did our wedding and maternity pics. And we will probably do 1 year pics with her too. We're kind of obsessed with her work!
@oahujeni: It was a gift and live in Canada so I may not be of much help :(. I googled rainbow sock monkey and found it at a couple of toy stores in Canada. You may be able to order it online though and have it shipped...it's only $5!

I loooooove our newborn pics! We purchased a special where we go every 3 months for the first year. I cannot wait to see how she changes!

I wish we hired a real photographer... we went to jcp and the lady wasn't at all creative But I guess I am just happpy I have some since we didn't get them for #1. Here are my favorites
