Kinda wanna get a tree.. My lo loves balls and I'm sure she'd love decorating a tree with us.
I saw some shatter free Christmas balls on target.com
Do they really not shatter? Where did you get your ornaments?

I don't have a LO but I always get shatter proof just because they are so much easier to store, and decorate with knowing they won't break. Hobby Lobby has a bunch of them! Maybe just do them down low for LO unless you need all new ones

I got a bunch from Crate and Barrel. I put all of the lighter, less fragile ornaments towards the bottom. DD doesn't touch the tree anyway.

Some of them have been shatterproof but we got some from Walmart a few years ago that didn't hold up. Falling off the tree they didn't break but our cat discovered that they would break if he slammed them against the wall.

I just made one of those ornament wreaths from Pinterest with the shatter-proof ones. You can't tell they're not glass, and I dropped plenty of them with no ill effects.

Do you have a Marshalls Home Goods near you?? I got a box of 70 shatterproof ornaments there yesterday for $25! I haven't actually dropped any yet, but they did take quite the tumble in the back of my car on the way home and they are fine--none broke or cracked!

@chopsuey119: Aw, thanks. It was pretty easy if you're willing to burn your fingers with hot glue a couple times

@Mrs. Yoyo: how do you make those? Do you just hot glue the ornaments to like a foam circle thing?

@MrsBrewer: Yup. I got three sizes and started with the bigger ones around the sides of the form, and then kind of just started layering them the best I could. There's not much to it, but it was time-consuming just figuring out where to place each one and all that. Here's a tutorial I followed:

We rarely buy glass ornaments for this reason, that's just asking for trouble!!
