CA is 55% after a 1 week waiting period.

Mine is 60% pay for 6 weeks, but it runs concurrently with my FMLA, so I can still only take 12 weeks total, just 6 weeks of it will be paid with STD and the other 6 weeks will be unpaid.

Ca it's 55% I think with a max cap if $1000 per week. 6 weeks for vaginal and 8 for cesarean. With paid family leave you get an additional 6 weeks of 55% pay. So total of 12-14 weeks of disability.

@Mrs. Lemon-Lime: Nope. 12 weeks max at 55% of your average pay from the last 17 months employed. I had a vag so I have 6 weeks SDI and may choose to take the bonding time throughout the year.

@Smurfette: STD can be longer than the 6/8 weeks if your doctor deems it medically necessary, perhaps complications with stitches healing or something.

I'm in MA but its different at each company. We get:

1 week extended illness leave (accrues with time and can only be taken with STD during the week grace period): 100%
6 weeks at 50% or 8 for csection

That's it. The rest of FMLA-protected time is unpaid. I can use PTO but our company is crazy stingy with that too so ill only have about a week.

I live in FL, but my benefits are through my company. STD is 55% for 6 weeks for birth. My company has a benefit that covers my full salary depending on how long you've worked there. For me, that's 6 weeks paid, then I have to take my vacation and sick time before I can take unpaid leave. So my 12 weeks maternity leave is essentially all paid, but I'll have no paid time off for the rest of the year.

@Mrs. Lemon-Lime: I'd recommend clarifying. It sounds to me like that is how the full STD program works but like another person suggested, you typically only get paid until you are released from medical care (typically 6-8 weeks).

My STD had a two week waiting period. My company requires me to utilize all sick and vacation time FIRST. Since I had accumulated 10 weeks of time I wasn't able to collect any STD. It's a really crappy setup to say the least.

I'm in PA too.

My std has a 2 week waiting period at 0%, then it's another 4 weeks at 60% (if you don't buy supplemental insurance.) I've paid $17/mo to boost my std to 80% pay.

My policy only gives 6 weeks total whether you have a c section or a vaginal delivery.

ETA: my employer is too small to qualify for FMLA, but thy do give me 2 weeks at full pay for maternity leave and are letting me take 3 weeks unpaid leave instead of using up all of my pto.
