Last night at 10 pm LO nursed for 8 min, on one side. It is now 7:30 am and she still hasn't woken up! I am so sore. She is just laying in her crib, eyes closed, soothing herself (sucking on her fingers) but not really awake. How can she not be hungry?! Should I wake her to feed her? And when she finally does eat, she only takes one side...do I have to pump the other, which she hasn't nursed from since last night and won't again til next feeding?!

I think you should pump, otherwise you will be engorged and the next nursing session will be rough. DS usually only nurses from one side or 10 mins on both sides (which doesn't empty my breasts) so I always end up pumping after our breastfeeding situations. I have a preemie and he can only nurse for so long because it tires him out.

i do one side feedings and dont pump unless i want to save some milk.
the body will adjust to your lo's schedule and needs -
Hopefully she woke by now! I would go ahead and pump some in a situation like that (both sides) and then nurse whenever she gets up. The baby will always be able to get more milk out but you don't want to flood her if you are that full.
