We started off with a bed on the floor.. so far so good! Should be interesting when she starts walking though.
Maybe Charlie'll sleep better if he gets his big boy bed?

We switched her crib to a daybed like thing when she was around 18 months because she started climbing out. She was having problems with going to bed too but once we made it a big girl bed she was so excited and didn't give me peoblems anymore

I'm impressed that he made it that long in a crib! I would say that it is more than time for a big kid bed.

Sounds like it may be time! Do you think he will transition well? Hey, at least if you have to hold his hand while he falls asleep, your arm isn't stuck in a crib slat!!

i think when he wants to stop wearing his sleep sack and wants to start climbing out of the crib is an awesome time! (NOW!) lol. plus, i bet he'd LOVE the idea of sleeping in a "BIG BOY" bed now.

@Rubies: Too funny that you mentioned that episode of Full House because I totally remember that too!! Who knew we'd be remembering it as we raise our own kids??

I don't really have advice, DD isn't to that point yet, but it sounds like maybe he is ready to transition into a toddler bed. Have you tried the Halo Sleepsacks for early walkers? They have holes for their feet.

Rob Sr. keeps asking me the same thing and I say "never".... RJ is still in sleep sacks so he's never really been able to try to climb out of his crib. I intend on keeping him in a crib as long as possible, but he has been fighting bedtime lately as well! We had to let him cry the past two nights. He only cried for 5 mins each night, but he starts crying the second we lower him into the crib.

We've tried pushing his bedtime to between 7 and 7:30, and that helped with the bedtime routine battles, but now he's crying. Kinda stinks but I just can't imagine him not in a crib-- he rolls around all night long and I feel like I'd have to go in and re-cover him a million times a night.

@Andrea: good to know! I'm so far away from that point that I haven't thought about that yet.

I wouldn't want to lock the door either in case of an emergency.

You would have to make sure to kid proof all the major things like your stove knobs, though, once your child is able to roam out of their rooms. Another reason why I would want to keep the crib for as long as possible.
