I had lists. Nothing was done completely. Life went on. My LO came 2 weeks early. I left our appt and had to go back to work because I was having her the next day--I didn't have sub plans ready--nothing.

A couple of things that I did get done, that were very helpful, were washing the newborn/0-3/3month clothes, packing my hospital bag, and making sure we had some food in the house. I sorted the other sizes of clothes out, but haven't washed them yet. All I had todo the night before was double check my bags, which was nice because I was still freaking out at the fact that we were having our baby the next day. Having some food in the house meant that we didn't have to rush out to the store right away. DH did go get some stuff, but it wasn't anything imperative. My sisters came after the baby was born and helped me cross things off of my to-do list. DH watched the baby, I realize you will have two, and she and I could do some stuff and then rest and I would feed the baby. That worked out better for us. Good luck! Can't believe you will be having your babies soon.

I'm at 35+ weeks now and definitely feel like I need to get organized.

To do:
Hair cut for me - scheduled for week 38
Make at least 3 big freezer meals
Stock pantry and freezer
Order diapers
Have a few more date nights with DH (two are planned so far)
Do something special with DS
Buy DS a gift "from the baby"
Convert the stroller to the baby instead of toddler mode. But I think we'll just do that when we bring the baby home
Buy PP stuff like pads and nursing supplies

Done:
Most baby gear is purchased and ready
Clothes are washed and put away

@lamariniere: not to thread hijack, but what is the baby buying your other LO? That's a great idea!

@Sugar.Biscuit: Just make sure to try not to get TOO overwhelmed Enjoy the last few weeks of pregnancy (as much as you can, groan hahaha) All the babies really need when they get home is you and some place warm to be. DS came WAY before he was suppose to and almost nothing was ready, but we made it through anyways. Maybe just make sure stuff is put together, like the swings, cribs, etc, because that might be hard to do once they get here.

@Sugar.Biscuit: first, so excited for you! Second, my baby decided to arrive early, was due 11-28 and these are the things I wish I had done:
- wash newborn clothes
- pack my hospital bag
- get changing zone ready
- have plenty of newborn diapers ready
- if vaginal birth, have a bum donut purchased for all of the sitting you're about to do and the tender parts you need to care for too.

No matter what, it will all work out.

I had my baby Tuesday. Left hospital Thursday. Still in an apartment while my home renovation wraps, stressful to not be at home, but can't be around paint, etc. so think about the painting for sure.

@Sugar.Biscuit: Ha, oh yes, I certainly hope I would be a little more anal if I was having two!

@Sugar.Biscuit: That is a serious list. I don't think I really made one for the house just baby things and a hospital checklist.

@Sugar.Biscuit: Yes, that's a perfect plan! Right now for us, 6 months later and daddy is still all about baby.

@Sugar.Biscuit: I packed way too much. All I really need this time around are toiletries, a couple changes of clothes (yoga pants, nightgown-I got both from target), ill bring my own towel because the hospital ones were awful. I'll bring a going home outfit for baby. Other than that, we used nursery blankets and onesies--they were side snap so it made changes a breeze. I brought the boppy also.

The only thing I likely won't take with me the second time around is changes of clothes for myself. I was more comfortable in the hospital gown!

@Mrs. Jump Rope: Ha I was the exact opposite. I changed into some cute pajama bottoms and a nice robe as soon as I could, it made me feel human again!

@Arden: I changed but bled through my pants. All I saw was laundry that we would need to do. Back into my hospital gown I went!!

I changed into my own clothes at the hospital, used my own toiletries and I put the kiddos in their own clothes to go home, but we used hospital stuff for everything else- onesies, blankets, pillows, etc. Using the hospital pillows for tandem nursing was no problem (well, pillow-wise. Nursing two at once is hard). In terms of PP stuff, our hospital had EVERYTHING I could possibly want (and stuff I didn't). Check ahead of time what they provide, then you're not schlepping extra stuff to and from the hospital.

@Sugar.Biscuit: I honestly wouldn't even worry about your own underware. Maybe 1-2 pairs.

Definitely snacks and drinks. For you too so you don't have to wait for meal time for foods to be delivered.

The hospital provided lanolin upon request bring your own but if they will give it to you for free take it.

Also I would bring some makeup. It was nice to just put on some mascara and lipstick for pictures.

We brought an iPod player for some white noise at night.
