For those of you who took B6 or B Complex to lengthen your LP, did you notice any side effects? My forehead has had this tingling feeling on and off for the past week. I googled side effects and read that tingling hands and feet could be a side effect. Am I alone in this and just going nuts?

I have only taken it here and there, but the B Complex never gave me that side effect.

I haven't taken it myself, partly because I saw those side effects. I think you're supposed to have no more than 100mg/day total or something like that (including whatever is in your prenatal). If you're feeling the tingling, I'd stop and talk to a doctor...

@Mrs.Someone: I didn't realize this was a side effect and don't think I even noticed it for the first week (post-O, or what I first thought was O). I might try halving the pills first and if it continues stopping all together? How odd.

I took B-Complex for a month prior to our Jamaica trip this spring (supposedly sand fleas don't like the taste of it in your blood and you get less bites, so it has other uses besides TTC). And I'm taking it again this cycle to see if it helps lengthen it, and at CD11 so far I haven't had any tingling. I think I'd probably at least reach out to my doctor or a nurse and ask them what they think, since you've been having this tingling for like a week now? Hopefully it's just a minor side effect that doesn't mean anything other than an annoyance!

@LindsayInNY: How much are you taking? B6 can cause nervous system side effects if you take too high of a dosage.

@spaniellove: 100mg, I think? I just bought a small bottle of it but I don't think I saw other dosages? I asked a friend who's a nurse and she didn't know of any major side effects. But I did read about the nervous system stuff. I think I'm going to half the pills for now.

I took 100mg for a month, and it just made me feel off, sort of tingly I guess, but I think part of that was because I had read the side effects (hypochondriac, haha). I tried 50mg the next month, but it didn't lengthen my LP so I stopped it. I agree with others that you should probably try a lower dose to see if it goes away.

@Shutterbug: Not sure if it's helping my LP and/or the spotting yet. I'm going to half the pills to see if that helps the tingling in the meantime.

@LindsayInNY: Hmm...I take 100mg and it doesn't have that effect on me but you could always lower your dosage.

I was considering taking a B6 or 12 or complex because I saw a lot of girls on HB taking it. But I also read that taking too much vitamin B6 can be harmful because excess amounts of B6 can cause nerve damage. I plan to contact my ob/gyn next month or so if I am not pregnant and add B6 to my ongoing list of questions.

I felt funny when I took 100mg, so I kicked it down to 50mg. I was also worried about nerve damage stuff I had read- my OB recommended sticking to the 50mg anyway.

B6 is water soluble, so it shouldn't be an issue- you should just pee it out if you have too much. I have noticed a change in my LP the last 2 cycles with it- made me think I was pregnant both times
Good thing is that it stopped me from spotting prior to AF and lengthened my LP to apx 14 days.

.@MrsMcD: @wahine08: @Claire.Peonies: I read that natural B6 is water soluble but synthetic B6 isn't and an excess amount can create side effects like this? I don't know, clearly I'm google diagnosing, LOL! I didn't take it last night so hopefully this feeling will go away soon. I'm a bit hesitant to try it again though. At least not at the same amount.

I took 500mg daily of B6 from a compound pharmacy under doctor supervision and had no side effects.

@LindsayInNY: Let me know what you decide to do about the B6. I'm always curious about vitamins and love to about hear personal experiences with the same.

@LindsayInNY: I think it's supposed to take at least a few hundred mg/day if not more to get close to the range of having that kind of side effects? Not saying your symptoms can't be from the B6! Hope you start to feel better soon.

This isn't the same (I've had no tingling, sorry), but has anyone had issues with it turning things yellow? My b-complex pills are yellow and now my pee is super bright, and tmi but so is my cervical fluid, which I did NOT expect.

Just an update - today is 10DPO. The last time I took B6 was 6DPO and yet I'm still experiencing a bit of the tingling. No spotting/discharge yet and it usually starts around 10DPO.

@MrsMcD: Saturday is the goal. I don't know if the B6 helped or what. Part of the problem is that I started taking it on CD21 since I thought that's when I Oed but then it looked like I Oed on CD28. I don't know if the fact that I took it for those 7 days did anything? But I stopped 6DPO (O = CD28) - took it for about 13 days total, I think?

@LindsayInNY: I don't quite understand how the B6 works. But I'm absolutely hoping for the best for you. If you wait to test on Saturday, you will be about 12DPO. That's a good day to test, I think. Please let us know asap!

@MrsMcD: Me either. And it's kinda discouraging that it's sold in doses that are really higher than recommended? My LP didn't both me so much as the spotting/discharge pre-AF did. If I didn't have that, I wouldn't have taken it. And I don't think I will again either...
