YAY!!!!!! CONGRATULATIONS!!!!

I'm with you - I know nothing about having sisters, and if my best friend is anything to go by, sisters can drive you CRAZY. But they seem to always have each other's back and are each other's best friends! Your girls are going to be so close (and fight so much)!!!

My sister is older then me and we certainty had times when we didn't like each other. But for the most part have always been friends. We are closer now that we are older. She isn't the first person I would go too if I need to confine in someone but I know she always has my back. And she is a great babysitter:)

Sisters is all I know. I got two of my own and now daughter siblings. Drama runs high in our family.

I have 3 sisters who are my best friends in the entire world and was thrilled when LO2 was a girl so dd1 could have a sister too. There was a small smidgen of sadness because we are likely done so we will probably never have a boy, but I would have been a bit sad too if DD never had a sister.

But yeah, sisters are GREAT. A built in best friend for your whole life. As an adult my sisters are so important to me. I love watching my girls together and hope they are always close. ️

I have a sister! She is much younger, but I don't think we were ever THAT dramatic!

First off CONGRATS!! I have two girls, and I can't imagine anything different. They LOVE each other so much, LO2 first word was "me me" which is her trying to say her sister's name. They look at each other with such love (2 1/2 years apart) that I find myself just stopping and watching it. My husband was the same way, but now says he wouldn't mind having another girl, says he doesn't know how to handle boys! ha

I grew up with 2 sisters, we fought/we had drama, but in the end we were ALWAYS there for each other, I want the same for my daughters.

Sisters are the best. Also, according to research, families with 2 girls is the most harmonious mix, apparently! (That's what I read!)

@Charm54: all of this! My 3 sisters are my best friends! My older sister and I never really fought growing up- we are about 4 years apart in age and have always gotten along and she is still my best friend. My younger sister who is 3 years young- we did fight. A lot. But i think that just have to do with personality.

I was also super excited when LO2 was another girl. DH would have liked to have a boy but I am so excited that they will have a sister. Seriously, sisters are the best!

I'm one of two daughters, 3.5 years apart. My mom has always maintained that we were polar opposites in every which way, until we grew into young adults. I was intense and independent while my sister was more timid and content to exist at our mother's legs. All around, just very different strengths, weaknesses and needs. I'm sure this lent itself to parenting challenges and sister drama. The teen years were pretty up and down.

Now that we're adults, we still have our challenges. We argue and it gets heated and ridiculous. However, she's one of my very best friends. She was my maid of honor and is Godmother to my daughter. I love her fiercely and our bond is pretty unreal.

We're trying for our second/last, and I've said it would be nice to have one of each. However, I'd be lying if I said I didn't have pretty warm feelings about a sister dynamic, in our household. Warts and all.

I have three sisters and it is amazing. I don't know how far apart your girls will be, but I have 5 years between my older one and me, 18 months between me and my younger, and 4 between me and my youngest. I was best friends with my 18 month younger sister when we were little and then we went through a rough patch from about 11 until I was finished university. Now we're really close again. I think our close ages fed into some jealousy and muddled friendships, but our years not spent being super friendly haven't ruined our current relationship so I think everything worked out how it was supposed to. I know that things can sometimes be rocky with kids who are close in age, regardless of gender.

Congrats! I have a sister but from a G/B/G family so we are pretty far apart.

@JoJoGirl: Congratulations! I have an older sister who is my best friend - no real drama growing up besides the usual sibling stuff, we also have a large age gap though.

As for the 'drama' - I think that young girls get labelled with the 'drama' and 'diva' stickers all to easily when it's really just usual sibling stuff. Their personalities and your parenting will determine who they become more than their genders.

I love having a sister! She is a year and a half younger than me and we did fight all the way through middle and high school but as adults we get along really well and it's been SO fun raising our sons together so close in age.

Yay, hooray!! I have 4 sisters, and yes, it was at times high drama. But we're all older now and get along really well. It will be so fun!

My advice? When they get to that stage, buy each one their own hair dryer. That would have saved a LOT of fights in our family
