I need some skinny jean recommendations! I used to wear AE pre-baby but they sit too low for comfort now.

Old navy's rokstar skinnys are cheap & so comfortable!

@Mrs. Jump Rope: unfortunately old navy doesn't fit me very well! Bummer since they are so inexpensive!

Citizens and Hudson fit me well but they're expensive. Unfortunately, I've never been able to fit into cheaper jeans. My booty is a force to be reckoned with apparently and less expensive jeans aren't up to the task of containing it.

I really like how their jeans fit me post-baby, they're definitely cut higher than the rockstars (which I also have).
ETA - I've never tried on any of the fancy pants brands so I can't compare them

Paige premium denim skyline skinnies are a mid rise and very forgiving on the figure (but not the wallet, sorry!).

There is a company called Second Denim that make Yoga Jeans--they have all sorts of styles, great colours. I love them!!

Forever21... no joke! I bought three pairs: http://www.modgblog.com/2013/02/20/i-can-now-officially-tell-you-which-jeans-will-make-you-look-hotter-than-1999-britney-at-the-super-bowl-so-hot/

@keiki_mama: ditto! I'm too cheap and won't pay more than $15 for jeans. I get f21 jeans when they're under $10.

@locavore_mama: Yes! I saw their jeans on sale for 7.80 last week. Score!

I wear the $10 "5 pocket" ones from forever 21! I have them in 3 colours, and they actually last for a long time.. I've had one pair for 3 years and I wear them a lot!
I just got two pairs in the next size up for when I gain some prego weight too!

@keiki_mama: @locavore_mama: @Mrs. Champagne: I am going to have to check this out, wow! The whole store is overwhelming to me so very excited to hear something specific to look for!
blogger / wonderful cherry / 21616 posts
@locavore_mama: @keiki_mama: I'm afraid I'm not small enough to fit F21. Last time I went there a very snarky employee told me to shop at a plus size store... And I'm not even plus size but I'm definitely not a "juniors" either...

Ok, I know this sounds really old lady, but....I have awesome skinny jeans from j.jill, and a new pair from LLBean. ETA: they are definitely more post kid friendly than some of the juniors style stuff I've tried on (I'm a size 10/12).

@Mrs. Pen: that is so nasty!!!! You are not plus size! Irregardless they have a plus size section so what the beep is she talking about?!
blogger / wonderful cherry / 21616 posts
@locavore_mama: ugh I was so mad it left a bad taste in my mouth about that store! I was only like six months post partum.. The other bummer is the nearest one is at MOA which is an hour away.

Have you tried LOFT or Ann Taylor? Their pants and denim fit me well and often have a decent amount of stretch, which is nice when you're looking after a child! They aren't cheap at regular price, but they have lots of sales.

I got some skinny but curvy ankle jeans at target. I roll them to capri length and I love them!

@Mrs. Pen: I got a really comfy cute pair of Paige Premiums at the rack! They were around $80

Rich and Skinny.
Best jeans I've ever owned. Love the mid rise that most of them have!!! The denim is super soft so they're really comfortable.

i don't mind the gap skinnies! as long as they are the ones with stretch.
i want to try the high rise ae skinnies, but they are only available online in canada, so i dunno

BDG brand from urban outfitters. They have great stretch & are reasonably priced.
admin / watermelon / 14210 posts
@luckypenny: agree! Bdg is awesome and comes in high waisted!

@Mrs. Pen: I like Targets skinny jeans. They come in black and different jean washes, not sure about colors. Love the fit and the price

@Sparks: I'd also say Target has some good mid-rise skinnies for a good price!
What a B* at F21!

Karen Kane has some great ones, you can get them at department stores, usually.

I have had great luck with J.Crew's "toothpick" and "matchstick" jeans. I stock up at the outlet when they have a sale and have never paid more than $30!

@Mrs. Pen: Forever 21 runs STUPID small. Their XL is like a M most other places. And they do carry plus size... which I have to buy.... and I'm a 12.... which is not plus size. Anyway, I worked for them for a bit and now I refuse to shop there. They are a seriously shady company and treat their employees like crap.
I used to like Old Navy (I have the sweetheart style) but I find that Im too curvy for their jeans and they dont fit right. Mama has a 12" difference between her waist and hip measurements, so it severely limits selection if I dont want to alter them.

my go to brand ones are hudson or j brand
more affordable are the super skinnies from loft, or express!
apricot / 432 posts
@Mrs. Pen: There's a F21 at Rosedale now, not sure if that's closer to you? I don't shop there, but noticed it the last time I was there. I like Loft's or Gap's skinny jeans the best so far.
