We have a similarly tiny bathroom. We have a metal shelfing unit above/around the toilet (legs on either side of the toilet, three shelves above it). I put our stuff in baskets on the shelves. The last tenant left it, so I have no idea where it came from, but I bet you could find something similar at IKEA.

I second the above-the-toilet storage thing. You could also find some deep shelves and put baskets on them.

When I had a teeny tiny bathroom, I bought a three-level rolling Ikea shelf-thingy (sorry, I don't know how else to describe it) to keep all my hair products, face wash, etc. We put a shelving unit above the toilet to keep our toilet papers, towels, etc.

I kept big stuff like towels in the hall closet. And I got a steralite box for all the products I didn't need accessible and put those in a closet as well.

Our master bathroom is tiny, and my strategy is a caddy that fits over the shower head to store all our products, and as many towel bars as I could cram onto the walls (I have two vertical rows) - I fold clean towels in half or thirds lengthwise, and store two per bar.

Also, can you make any renovations? We found put in a large recessed medicine cabinet/mirror above the tiny vanity and that gives us a ton of extra space, too. It was an easy project.

Towels, washcloths and soap have always been kept in a hallway closet.

We keep hair products and bathroom cleaner under our bathroom sink.

I've never had storage in a bathroom before!
