LO has a stuffy nose, and every time I try to remove some of the mucus with a nosefrida or a bulb sucker, she loses it. Is this normal? She cries like I'm torturing her. She dislikes it so much that she has started pushing my hands away when I try to spray saline in her nose 
I would just leave it be, but she isn't sleeping well because of all the mucus. Anyone have tips for cry-free snot removal?

I think its normal that she doesnt like it because its an odd feeling having something put up your nose, but you should push through with the nosefrida and then she will feel so much better once your done.
ETA my nephew wouldnt even let you wipe his nose with a tissue, he would just go crazy, if you went near his nose but his mom would push through it and then he would calm again. -
My LO is the same way so we try to make it as quick as possible! DH will hold her down while I squirt saline and suck.

My LO just got over a cold. We'd have to hold her head down to put saline drops in her nose. She hated it, but we had to do it!

No advice except to use force i.e. hold her down. It just has to be done!

I work with kids that need this EVERY day. They all cry and we just go for it because they need it.

My kid gets it done twice a day every day and has since he turned 4 months old. You'd think he'd learn to accept it but he doesn't. You just have to hold them still and get it done anyway. Occasionally I really wish I had a third arm to wrangle him down but alas, it is what it is. It is worth it to have a baby that can breathe well and sleep comfortably.

olive hates it too but i just force her. another thing that really helps is to stand in the bathroom with the hot water running. the steam helps to clear their nose!

We just force it too. He usually doesn't mind it but when he does, he won't let me anywhere near him with the nosefrieda. I agree with @mrs.bee. Hot steam does wonders for clearing that gunk out.

@owlmom: Yep. My LO starts crying as soon as she sees the nose frieda and saline solution. HAHA it's so sad. We have to hold her down to clear her snot too. It's sad, but necessary

I do it when my LO is sleeping. Yes it does wake him up but when he cries it's less intense than the flailing arms/legs and quick moving head
