i like the merino kids (it's pricey though). i always felt the fleece wasn't warm enough.

We bought a standard long-sleeved fleece sleep sack (probably Carter's or something). My only regret is we bought one that only zips from the neck down (instead of having a zipper at the top and bottom).

We used fleece and I am sure it was plenty warm. My son is also a sweater, especially in the summer, but at night it got pretty cool in his room.

For pajamas we used footed carters, either the cotton ones or the fleece on the really cold nights.
