She's super supportive of all of DH and my decisions as parents. She's also super generous. Always cooks dinner and brings us groceries and goes all out for "gifts."

She instilled a strong work ethic in DH!

She's really good at playing with the kids!

@regberadaisy: DH's dad wasn't in the picture so I can't credit anyone else... I mean there were some MAJOR boundary issues we've had to work out, but housework & loving me well are things he's pretty dang good at & I know I can attribute that to her.... Believe me if I could credit someone else I probably would. lol

She is very generous. They covered a few of the big ticket items we needed for LO without even batting an eye.

My MIL is really generous both financially and with her time. She has already made a gorgeous blanket for our baby and has spent hours on end crocheting flowers for BIL's wedding. She is now talking about coming to help me with our garden this summer because she knows I wont be able to do it alone. If you turn up at her house uninvited for whatever reason and she is cooking dinner for her and FIL, she wont hesitate to make it split 4 ways. She is always there for us - not just DH but me as well - for example, when my dad was dying she emailed and called regularly and asked if I needed to talk.

I know I moan about her, which is awful really - but sometimes I feel a bit suffocated. Like with the baby - she is SO excited, she keeps talking about all the time she is going to spend with "our" baby. But I think the problem is more with me (I'm really not used to a close family) as it is with her.

She's an all round good egg, really. I've lucked out in the MIL department!

She is a hard worker!

She's extremely considerate, she really wanted to come stay at our house once I had LO, but I told my SIL having her there would stress me out. She was considerate enough of my feelings to withdraw her offer. I'm very grateful for that.

She's a sweetheart. She's ALWAYS nice. She never says anything mean ever.

Once time I completely messed up a recipe and she told me "Oh you know you are probably are just so good at cooking that you can always eyeball it, and you probably just didn't get it quite right this time"

Seriously, she is a genius at looking at things in a positive light.

She is very generous and always checking in on R, through text messages.

Edit: Also, they live 4 hours away, is a win win in my book.

She is the most generous person I have ever met in my entire life, literally. And she instilled the same in my DH, and that's one of the characteristics I love most about him. She also would do anything for my LO, our dog, or any of her children, and is a breast cancer survivor to boot! She can be a little overwhelming at times, but I love her much.

She raised a wonderful son, and she is incredibly kind to LO.

she is good in every single way; she has no bad. But, my favorite things are that she is very supportive of our marriage and respects our privacy and parenting decisions. Another thing is, she has always made me feel at home and welcome in their family and involves me in everything she is apart of. Also, I love that she showers Lo with so much love. There are actually just so many things that make her so wonderful:)

She's really organized, efficient, and can take-charge and get things done when everyone else is dilly-dallying. Plus, she has this incredible knack for finding stuff at thrift stores, in dumpsters, on the side of the road, and refurbishing them into beautiful, useful pieces. She's already come up with a bunch of stuff for us to use for the wedding. I wish I had the same talent!

She lives many states away.

My MIL is one of my best friends. Shes very generous and always buys things for LO. She is very supportive when DH and I get into fights. She doesn't take sides and gives very good advice.

She loves sewing and has made so many useful things for LO. Changing pads, burp cloths, blankets...so much so that my friends and SIL want to order things from her!
