I wanted my own bedroom... we hope we'll be able to give our kids that, at least as they get a bit older.

@mrs. wagon: dance lessons! ha! If I have a girl. Well heck, even if my boy wants dance lessons!
Or even just the ability to do whatever sport/activity they want. Growing up with six siblings didn't afford many opportunities to participate in activities that cost money.

A dollhouse, yes! Well, hopefully
And some cool bed with like a hutch underneath it, or a loft. If I can

I never had an Easy Bake Oven and really wanted one! I'm guessing I somehow never expressed this to my parents as I know my dad would have bought it if I asked.
I can't wait to get one for M and play with it with her.

@pui: oh I agree with that. I finally got my own room when I was 16 or 17 and my older sister moved out. But when I moved back in (after I had moved out) when I was 20, I had to share with my 4 year old sister! It was awful. I suppose I had it coming since I was returning to live at home because I couldn't find a job.

@fancyfunction: Yeah! That too! And I agree, I think I wanted things and I didn't express that? Because I don't know why I wouldn't have had a dollhouse or an easybake otherwise... I was pretty spoiled!

@mamimami: Haha - me too! I guess I just always thought about it but never asked?

I wanted piano lessons, but we had no piano!
Now we have a piano, and we're all going to get lessons!

@looch: Coming from someone whose parents greatly encouraged (not quite forced) me to continue piano lessons even though I complained incessantly/insisted I hated it - don't let your LO quit! I am SO SO SOOOO grateful to my parents for not letting me quit. Not only did it turn into a huge love and passion of mine once I reached high-school age; it also taught me not to quit just because something is hard or I don't love it.

@Mrs. Pen: so true! I really wish my parents hadn't let me quit the piano...

I always wanted a dog when I was a kid and never could get one because we rented a small place. I'm hoping we'll always have a dog in our family, so our LOs will get that experience.
I also wanted to be a twin and they're going to get to experience that too.

I always always always wanted an American girl doll. I never got one!! If I ever have a little girl I'm definitely getting her one!

I wanted a chicken house. For some reason, I just don't think LO will be getting that one...
I wanted a cool bed, with a canopy or something to make it fort-like. I'm already looking at plans for LO's big girl bed. And I wanted siblings. Looks like she'll be getting that in September.

Nothing....
But something about my parenting that I'll do differently is to always go to his sports games. My parents came once in awhile but they didn't really 'get' sports.

I always wanted a window seat in my room (so I could curl up and read...nerd). We don't have any space for a window seat, but I'd love to design a book nook for LO.

@Danizaur: Um, I plan on buying myself an American Girl doll at some point.
An American Girl Doll. I never had one and always wanted one. Also, a canopy bed or a lofted bed. Both seemed equally awesome.

I will support her in whichever hobby she wants to pursue - music, dance, ice skating, sport etc, taking her to lessons and buying her the equipment.

A dog, which future LO will dear have since I have a dog now!

So many good ones on here! I desperately wanted piano lessons, but played other instruments and didn't have time. Wanted an American girl doll, specifically Kirsten (incidentally my SIL had both Kirsten and Samantha, kept them in mint condition, and just gave them to DD!). I also wanted an Easy Bake Oven, got one from my great-grandmother, and my mom took it back. She didn't want the mess, but I've never forgiven her! Haha!

@Mrs. Pen: I am okay if he tries it and doesn't like it. I don't believe that he should be forced to do it just because it is something I wanted.
He shows interest now, which is the only reason I am even considering it.

Hmm I'm not really sure! We only went on one vacation as a family so I'd like to do that with my kids if it's financially possible in a few years! Maybe Disney, I've never been there

I would love to send her to summer camp when she is interested. I never got to do that and I always wanted to!

I always wanted Playmobil sets. My cousins (boys) had them and I loved them. I don't think it occurred to my parents that a girl might want them...

A dog! We have one & Sadie LOVES HIM, which makes me so happy.
ETA: Oh, and a trip to Disney World! I've always wanted to go. My dad ordered a VHS tape of "planning your Disney trip," which got me all excited, but we never went. I watched that tape like every day for months. Ha. I'm definitely taking Sadie!

@redsmarties: OH! Me too! Me too!
We have a big window in our playroom, and a low cupboard under it. I'm going to make some cushions for it and it'll be like a window seat. Perfect for reading
