I usually order food exactly how it appears in the menu. Do you make a lot of special requests when you eat out?

I don't, even though I have some dietary restrictions - I tend to either order to suit my restrictions, or just eat around it. However, my mom has a LOT of allergies, so dining out with her is always an adventure.
That being said, I have no issue asking for a substitution or for a check of the ingredients if I'm unsure.

Absolutely! I am a terribly picky eater and on top of that I can't have milk or soy because of little man. Its usually easiest if I just get things plain. At subway I even ask for a new knife because the others have ranch and other sauces all over them.

I just avoid cucumbers - I hate them! If they show up on my plate, I just pass them over onto hubs' plate!

Not usually. I'm a pretty good eater and tend to order things as they are. It's been a bit different during pregnancy, since there are many more restrictions, I am very fortunate, though, and have no food allergies, so that makes ordering much easier!

USually I'll order the way it is from the menu. We like angel hair, so if we want a pasta dish but don't like the type of pasta, we'll ask that they use angel hair instead

There are a few foods I can't handle, so rarely I'll ask for those to be substituted, but usually, I just avoid them. I felt slightly guilty for ordering a virgin pina colada for desert today because it wasn't a standard menu item.

It depends who I'm with. If I'm out with my husband or my family I'll order it exactly how I want it. If I'm out with my inlaws or friends I try to just order something I'll eat as is.

I'm not too picky, but now that I'm pregnant I'm not shy about confirming that soft cheese is pasteurized. I also always try to remember to ask for no cilantro in Mexican and Asian food - I despise it!!

I'm a really picky eater but I try to limit it to just one adjustment to the meal : ) I don't want to be annoying but at the same time I'm paying for the food, I might as well get it how I want it.

I usually order it as is. Unless we go to a Thai place, I usually tell them to make it less spicy. I'm an Asian that doesn't like spicy foods. Yeah, I know I'm weird.

I like my food pretty plain so I usually ask for adjustments with condiments , but that is usually it.

Tons. I saw jewtopia and they listed all sorts of Jewish stereotypes, one of which is that we order our meals like that. Its always I want the chicken salad with no chicken and no lettuce and instead of chicken can I have shrimp, extra tomatoes and no onions. I didn't know it was common for Jews.... I just knew I did it!

I've just cut dairy out of my diet, so we'll see how that goes. My mom and sister cant have gluten or lactose, so they are always fixing or modifying stuff

It depends on what the food is. If I'm ordering a burger, I don't care what comes on it, I'll ask for it to be dressed how I like it (I can't stand ketchup, pickles, onions or mustard on burgers, for example). Or if something has avocado or olives in it and they can be easily not added I'll request that.

I usually order things off the menu, but ask for small things like salad dressing on the side or I don't want the pickle even on my plate bc it'll make my sandwich wet with pickle juice & I haaate pickles.

Usually its minor things like mustard instead of mayo on the burger, but I'm not a picky eater so I eat everything.
@bluestriped bee: I'm Asian and can't handle the heat very well either. I'm trying to build my tolerance, but mild is still the clear winner.

I'm not very picky so I usually order things how they come. One exception is mayo. I can't eat mayo. But if they forget to take it off a burger or something I just wipe it off with a napkin instead of sending it back.

I dont like any condiments so I have to always request no sauces on burgers or sandwiches. I also dont like seafood so any stirfry's or jambalaya's have to be ordered with shrimp on the side (which i will give to DH).
