My baby did this multiple times a day for the first five or six weeks....I cut down on pumping and I think her stomach grew.

My baby did that when he was teeny tiny like @autumnlove: 's baby. He grew out of it! My babe did have a bit of reflux, so you could have him checked for that. I remember those projectile pukes scaring me half to death!

Sounds like it could be trapped air bubbles! My LO was a happy chucker for a fair while and even at twelve months she still occasionally spills after a big feed. If it makes you feel better, it's probably not as much milk as it looks, have you tried tipping an ounce of water on your bench to see what it looks like in comparison?

I found the spitting up was far better if I fed only one side and waited thirty minutes before offering the other breast, I also tried to limit her comfort sucking.

Has he had less BMs lately? How is his weight gain? The projectile vomiting made me think of pyloric stenosis. DH had that as an infant. Fingers crossed that he's just a happy spitter!

My boys had tons of projectile spit-up due to reflux. But, they were also clearly in pain, so we put them on meds. I'd check with your ped, but our basically said as long as it doesn't seem to be bothering them and they're gaining weight, it's best to just deal with it rather than do medical treatment. (If you think it might be reflux, there are some things you can do to minimize it that don't involve meds.)

This happened to my LO for a period of time after long feeds, but seems to have stopped now at almost five months. I always just chalked it up to taking in a little too much, and also my not burping enough mid feed. She would get so mad though if I took her off that I just couldn't bear it.
