I wanted to seeing I loved taking baths pregnant, but it just never happened. I was induced, the bath was never really offered and when I got the courage to ask it was being used.
I think this time around I will ask... I'm sure it would of speeded things along.
Did you take a bath before going into labour?

I got sent home from the hospital because I wasn't dilating. The pain got bad fast so I hopped into the tub. But it didn't help at all. I was just wet and in pain.

@artbee: Aw that's sucky. They actually have a bath at the hospital and my friend (who works there) suggested I go to give an extra kick to my contractions. Never did though. And I regret it.

No. But I took a shower as soon as I woke up and knew I was in labor. Best shower ever. Lol.

@artbee: hahahaha I think that is exactly how I would feel if I were in labor and got in a tub. And annoyed for being both in pain and wet.

I took showers while in labor. The first time was because they sent me home since I wasn't progressing enough, yet I was in a lot of pain so I thought the shower would distract me. I went into transitional labor that way. I went back to the hospital and was 5 cm!
With #2 I did the same thing but I was in the shower for like 7 mins max. I had to get out and go to the hospital quickly because I was just progressing SO fast. Luckily we got there a little over an hour later and I was 9 cm!! She was born ten minutes and two pushes later and my hair was still soaking wet from the shower!

Yes, I took one before going into the midwifery and I was in the tub a good part of my active labor and transitioning! It was glorious

@blushink: they have tubs at our hospital too. But I wanted an epidural. Helped way more than a bath ever could!

@mediagirl: it was so annoying! And not easy to get in and out of a tub 40 weeks pregnant and in labor.

@artbee: oh i got an epidural too. but i was induced say at 9 then got my epi at 1 but i could of taken a bath inbetween but didnt.

@pastemoo: yes it was just a 15-20 min cab ride but it was one of the "longest" 15-20 mins ever!

No but I was in the shower for about an hour whilst in labor and only got out when the pain was too much and i needed to sit!

I took a shower which was nice. They had one of those hand showers and a seat in it so that really helped with pain management. I got to use the bath afterwards though which was nice.

Do you mean use the tub during labor at the hospital? I insisted on having a delivery room with the tub, but didn't end up using it, it wasn't appealing during labor for some reason.
I lived in the tub while pregnant. I think I took baths at least 4 times a week.
