What destination you've already visited would you NOT want to visit again?

Once to Aruba was enough (at least Aruba in August) -- a gazillion degrees, humid, and not all that much "culture."

I have loved any international place I have been to, but for domestic, I don't ever want to go back to New Orleans or anywhere in New Mexico again. Oh, and Phoenix. I guess I don't like the desert.

hmmm... in the states, SD/ND/IA/KS lol sorry

I probably wouldn't excitedly go back to Lima, Peru- but my sister may end up moving there eventually (probably) so I'd go to visit her, my nephew and her husband.

Just curious...does LA mean Los Angeles or Louisiana?

  7. Mrs. Yoyo

    blogger / pomelo / 5400 posts

@autumnlove: For me it meant Los Angeles. Just not my kind of city.

@Arden: Agreed. Saw the Parthenon. Done. Next? Oh, and there was a garbage collectors strike while I was there, so it smelled just lovely.

I could spend tons of time on the islands, but Athens is a no go.

Add me to the Aruba naysayers. I forgot how much I wasn't impressed by that island.

@Coco Bee: What part of Kansas did you visit? Western Kansas really truly is horrible and even I (a diehard Kansas loyalist) can't argue in its favor.

Belize. We had a truly horrible experience there on our honeymoon and have next to nothing good to say about the place.

    Domestically: Miami.

@eeh: umm not sure, I don't quite remember. We mostly just drove through it. It was kind of boring, like most of the midwest.

I haven't traveled very much. We currently live in Kansas and I would be perfectly fine if I never had to come back.

Copenhagen. Sorry to all my Danish neighbors but when I visited it was surprisingly dirty!

I would never want to go back to Las Vegas for gambling, but I would like to go see some shows and actually just walk around. My first trip there was horrible.

@OliviaOblivia: Totally agree with you on Venice. I was just not impressed.

I would also skip The Loire Valley, in France. Did it once, saw the chateaux, don't need to do it again.

And St. Lucia. Maybe it's because our honeymoon was interrupted by a hurricane, but I wasn't really impressed with St. Lucia. The snorkeling was not that great (again, could be because the sea was getting churned up from the approaching storm), the scenery - aside from the view of the Pitons - wasn't any nicer than other Caribbean islands I've been to. I'd rather spend our money going somewhere else, like back to the BVIs.

Lots of Venice haters! I think that it's crucial to go before it gets overrun and hot. I went in early April and the weather was great and the crowds weren't bad, so I had a great time.

@Mrs. Yoyo: We also went to Venice in April, 2 years ago and totally loved it! I can't wait to go back for sentimental reasons and I really did enjoy it. But I can see how some people saw everything and are just DONE if they stayed too long.

Hmmm, I can't think of a place I wouldn't go to again. Maybe, Germany. The weather.

Mexico! (like many others) - no desire to ever go again.

So surprised about so many not liking Paris or Venice! Although, I went to Venice in the off season, and was in Paris with my husband who lived there for a year and speaks french, so I feel like I had an advantage.

Wow, 3 of my favorite places were mentioned here. Guess its different strokes for different folks. I love Paris, Lima and Las Vegas!

Anywhere on a cruise ship. I had a horrible time on my first cruise and I don't think I will ever do it again. I would much rather fly to the destination. But so far I have loved every country I have visited. DH also feels the same way, everywhere we visit he is convinced we need to move there.

Eek, I might get stoned for saying this but here I go.....*holds breath* Disney World. I've been there twice, once as a child and once for my high school senior trip. That's 2 times too many for me. Way too over priced, and just really not worth it to me. I mean I'm sure when I have kids I will end up bringing them there, but I would much prefer to bring them to see more natural beauty instead of all that make believe stuff that you have to pay $60 to get in to!

Almost anywhere in the Bahamas. A lot of people rave about the islands, but they just aren't for me. I've been to about 6 different locations on 6 separate occasions and it was always either cold and rainy the entire time or way too hot and filled with really pushy locals trying to sell you things. Also, right outside of the resorts are shanty towns, it's just sad

I haven't traveled much, but Disney World and Mount Rushmore are two places I have no desire to go to again. The former is just ridiculously crowded and overpriced, and the latter was just...meh. I mean, it was kind of neat for all of about a minute, and then I was bored to tears for the next 4 hours my parents insisted we stay (I was 14 when we visited).

I agree on Paris. It was fine, but I have no desire to go back. I didn't like how aggressive the men were and I felt unsafe there at night.

Portugal. It was boring as all get out. Not scenic unless you go down to the Algarve which was nicer, but I've been to nicer places.

I just got back from Europe, and I have to add... Athens, Greece. The Parthenon is cool, but other than that, just a big dirty city

Internationally, you can add me to the Paris-haters. I wasn't much of a fan.

In the US, I guess Nebraska doesn't hold much appeal for me, lol. I would say NYC, but maybe I'd go back once the kids are older and able to do more stuff. NYC with an infant was fine, but not something I'd like to redo anytime soon.

I haven't traveled much. But I went on a Mexican cruise and I would never go back to Mazatlan. Too humid and hot!

Surprised by all of you who wouldn't go back to Vegas or LA. I guess those are really close destinations to where I live so I go all the time. But I could see if you traveled far to go there, you wouldn't want to go back.

I actually loved loved loved Greece and would go back. Would never go back to the Bahamas.

Been to Vegas twice and la twice. Would go back again.

@Coco Bee: wasn't impressed w Lima either but we were there for a medical mission, so we stayed at a really crappy motel, like negative one star lol. I would like to visit macchu picchu (sp?)...

We've been all over the world and US, and I would go anywhere again. I love to travel!!

I might avoid Savannah, GA in August and Fiji in it's summer time since I don't do well in the heat and humidity. But for every destination that didn't turn out as we planned, we still made the most of it and had fun getting the heck outta Dodge.
