How old was your LO when they could stand without holding on to anything? If you stood them up in the middle of a room, when would they just stand there without falling or sitting?
Bonus question: Did they master this before or after they started taking their first steps?

G can stand unassisted for a few seconds if you let go of her, and will take both her hands off of the table when she's standing there (I don't think she realizes that she's standing on her own lol). It happened before her first steps, which occurred just last week!

DD did it for the first time at seven months but didn't get good at it until eight/nine. She took her first steps at nine months but didn't walk exclusively until 10.5.

Ummm I have a 12 month old who still refuses to do either of these things! Every now and then he'll stand for just a second before he realizes I let go, and then he just lets his knees collapse. Sigh.

My daughter started standing unassisted at 9 months, but didn't figure out how to stand up from sitting on her own until a couple weeks later when he started taking her first steps at 10 months!
