How often do you sterilize/boil your breast pump parts?

Not often. I throw them in a Medela steam bag one every week or two.

A couple of times a week. But I don't pump every day.

I don't pump everyday so I just toss it in our electric steam sterilizer after wash and run that every few days or so. But all that to say, every time.

Once a week by boiling them. But I've gone as long as a month without doing it.

Once every few weeks because I don't want the plastic to soften. I rinse them and soak them in hot soapy water every day though.

The ones at work I sterilize once a day in morning (microwave). The ones at home I sterilize once a week (boiling).

I just asked this question the other day if you want to see some more responses. I had such a hard time believing people did it every day as the instruction booklet said to do:

@sleepymonkey: I've gone up to a month, too!
I wash my parts after every use, but have been lax in sterilizing. I'm trying to do it at least once a week.

@Katrocap: yup. i wash my parts every night, but my family and many friends that i have with more than one kid tell me that sterilizing is something they only did with their first! i figure if their kids survived, mine probably will too
