I didn't start feeling like my stitches were gone until 4 or so weeks. I definitely lost a few in pads etc but I just decided I wanted to ignore them. So I did. I also had them close to my anus and tore a few there as well as my body adjusted.

You are brave, I avoided that area for 5 weeks! I didn't dare look and only touched with a washcloth while showering then at my postnatal checkup the doctor informed me they'd dissolved 2-3 weeks after birth. I had a 2nd degree tear. Never pulled a stitch, though.

I tore up front same day as you and am pretty sure they're still there...based on the itchiness, which I am taking to mean that they're healing? I have been using the peri bottle in the shower to douse them in water and patting w/Tucks every time I'm on the toilet, which seems to help a little w/the discomfort.

About 3-4 weeks. I want to say they were all gone by 4 weeks pp, for sure.

I looked and felt too... and instantly regretted it. lol

also to all you ladies who looked you are BRAVE! I stil have not 8mopp!!

I can feel the little scar and that is enough for me LOL

Oh my gosh, I haven't looked down there at all and refuse to feel around too! But the area stopped being sore about 2.5 weeks so maybe my stitches have dissolved? I don't actually know. I didn't have a tear though - I had an episiotomy, which I think heals quicker?

I'm with you...my stitches freak me out, and when they itch or sting, I get all paranoid.

I can't see my stitches, even with a mirror, and I think some have already fallen out by my rectum, which freaks me out, but not much I can do, I guess. I'm doing my best to ignore them. But they're annoying.
