A family member will be coming home from rehab for an addiction issue. I want to send her a gift but I’m a little lost on what to get. I thought maybe a sobriety journal or jewelry but my husband said that may be too personal. He suggested an Edible Arrangement which doesn’t seem personal enough to me, lol. Any suggestions?

I think I would pick something less personal than a diary/charm unless you are super close. I would get her something self-care related : a manicure set (I LOVE olive and june,) a gift certificate for a month of yoga at a local studio, or something of the sort.

What about some sort of grown-up activity kit that could give her something to do....I Purchased some of these in the past year for adults feeling alone during COVID quarantine. I’ve seen all sorts of “topics” from making hot sauce, soap or candle making, various types of candy making, bath bomb/lip stick making, gardening, etc.
Obviously you would stay away from any of the alcohol themed ones, but there are lots of fun choices you could cater to her interests!

What about sending a plant? And maybe some healthy/indulgent snacks (like a fancy trail mix?).

@PinkElephant: I like this idea! There are also some really cute “care package” type things on Etsy—I sent a sympathy box to one of my friends last spring and it was well received.

I like what others mentioned- an easy to care for houseplant, fancy snacks, and activity kits.
Also: caffeine-free tea, beauty items like lip gloss, face masks, bath bombs, Epsom salts, hand cream, nice soap/shampoo, a scented candle, warm socks, a scarf, warm robe....
